Welcome to the Dog Pound, Matt!!

Folks place way too much emphasis on the recruiting sites. UCONN offered because they thing he's a good athlete that can help the program. They don't care what Rivals states.

+1,000,000

I highly doubt the coaching staff looks at recruiting sites. They evaluate players with their eyes by watching them on film and, most importantly, watching them perform in camp. There is absolutely no way a recruiting site breaks down film or watches camps for every D 1 prospect. No chance.

Classes will be judged in 4 years. They shouldn't be judged now. Totally ridiculous. I can care less how many stars a player has. Take a look at how successful 4 star players have been at UCONN.

With that said, Welcome Matt!

Hope you have a great career here Matt. Bring some friends and get yourself on the field so they can cheer you on. Make your own stars.

I have no idea how this kid will play out, but we have 4-6 FBs on the roster (depends on what you do w/Clax and Vinci) and while one graduates that kid will likely never see the field. Do we need this many FBs?

Assuming he redshirts, Osiecki and Frank will both be Srs. in his RS Frosh year. If the staff thought he will be good, the depth at the position didn't preclude an offer.

Did anyone catch that espn updated Walsh's rating from NR to a 3* ?!! That gives us seven 3 star recruits for 2013. Sweet......

Nice article on Matt and a team mate (Pete Gerson -Yale Commit) in the NH Register today...

http://nhregister.com/articles/2012/09/08/sports/high_school/doc504bb958250ac872207661.txt

"... The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Walsh also packed on some more muscle, while improving his 40 time to a 4.7." "... Walsh had 170 tackles, along with eight touchdowns (one defensive)."

Gerson and Walsh played an instrumental role in shutting down Masuk and the state’s all-time leading passer, Casey Cochran, in the Tigers’ Class L semifinal victory. Despite being double-teamed throughout, Gerson relentlessly fought to pressure Cochran. Meanwhile, Walsh laid one crushing hit after another on the Panthers.
