Hope it's not Durr.....! Is she out of state with USA bball at the moment or back home? I lose track of who's where in all the different age groups over the summer.

OK - double checked and Durr is with her USA crew in Mexico at the moment.....wonder who it is?

Durr already won a gold medal they are already home from Mexico. The USA 19 and World University games teams are going to be playing soon. Does anybody know how they are doing? I have yet to hear.

Durr, I recall reading, is not making a commitment any time soon. She wants to narrow her schools and make her visits before committing.

Per Bret McCormick's twitter account (LINK), "Maryland receives 2016 verbal commitment from Sarah Myers 5-11 G South Forsyth HS GA. Myers plays club ball for Atlanta Cagers."

and "Maryland gets 2nd 2016 GA commitment. Terps receive verbal from ASGR #48 Jena Staiti 6-5 C West Forsyth HS. Plays club for Atlanta Cagers."

Since McCormick didn't list Myers ranking, I would assume she's presently unranked in 2016.

Does anybody else find it a tad unseemly that a coach is tweeting (first thing in the morning apparently) about a verbal? Are we the coach, or are we the 15-yr-old kid sister? Sigh..perhaps I'm dating myself (but, it's not like anybody else is going to, so...).

This happens a lot now because you cannot mention a recruit but you can post generics about an event. I have yet to see Coach Pasqualoni do this but read this article about Kevin Sumlin. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/co...coded-recruiting-commitment-tweets/index.html . It happens in MBB and WBB too but CFB has the most eyes on it so it gets all the attention in that article. Sort of an indicator of how dominant football is getting but nobody is talking about college hoops except for Brad Stevens leaving Butler. Johnny Football's offseason escapades get more attention.

Coaches tweeting about verbals and visits (aka "special visitor(s)") is very common these days. The UConn coaches are most definitely the exception when it comes to this practice.

everyone that goes to MD is "special" until Frese decides not to renew their scholarship

ask Mingo, Bays, Taylor, and Cloud if you doubt this

Frees did not renew these players' scholarships?
Any News stories about this?

There was plenty of news on the MD scout board about transfers leaving. Then Frese took over the board, and anything critical of Frese got deleted. Rachel Klein is the new moderator, and ever since she started information by Bays mom, and other transfers got deleted.

Frese took over a Scout bulletin board? I don't think so.

What vowelguy is asking is if there's proof of these allegations of yours. They come close to harmful speculation.

If you had observed the MD scout site it is obvious that Frese is in control now. Every fan base finds fault with their own coaches, and for years MD's site was no different than others. Then last summer information by Whitney Bays mom came out that her daughters scholarship (and others) were not renewed. It was obvious from the information Ms. Bays had, she was the real thing. The Bays family challenged the decision, and lost. Whitney transferred, and there was no comment from Frese about the transfer..... 99% of coaches thank student athletes for their service, and wish them good luck in the future. If you doubt this information contact Frese, and ask her if she has ever decided to not renew a scholarship at Maryland ?

or Google Whitney Bays transfer

Then in comes new Maryland Scout moderator Rachel Klein, and if someone posts Brenda had a bad hair day it is deleted. However, if you are critical Randy Edsall,(a very popular topic) or Mark Turgeon, no problem.

You've obviously never read the Summit in it's heyday. Criticism of Pat Summit was considered grounds for a public beheading there.

The way Scout works is this: Scout owns the board and, essentially, subcontracts others to run individual sites for them. There are contracts that are legally enforceable. If some person was running the Maryland site, Brenda Frese could NOT just declare herself in charge of any part of it. It would be like you deciding to fire me and take over the Boneyard. Unless Frese has somehow taken control of the Egyptian army and pulled off a military coup, there's no way she could assume control - as if she has time. I think what you've got over there is some fawning mod with a Brenda fetish.

I am sure Frese had nothing to do with a fawning moderator being hired, and it is just a coincidence Rachel Klein censors anything negative about Frese.

The Maryland scout site has been dying, there are two competitors . The site had become essentially a WBB board. When UMD joined the BIG? traffic increased from about 125 visitors a day to over 200. It was easy for Frese to get her person in charge.

I just went to Turtle SportsReport to see what the big to-do is. It's a pay-for site! If Frese truly were going to take over a fan bulletin board - that has less that 300 viewers, including men's basketball & football fans, then she's doing it to control information going to a minuscule part of the Internet.

Turtle Sports Report has 3 forums, the sports forum is FREE ! That is where the WBB threads are, until some disappear.

Today's Baltimore Sun has a story on the University of Maryland using message boards to promote the move to the BIG? The information was uncover by a freedom of information request.

It is clear Maryland wants to control as much information as possible. The new moderator of the MD site is paid by the athletic department.
