Marquette Post Game Thread

I thought Mahaney was better than previous games. He played a bunch of minutes and didn’t turn the ball over at all. Had a rebound, and assist and a basket. I am not saying he was great, but if he can come off bench and not make mistakes and produce some kind of stats, that is more than we’ve been getting off the bench other than Reed.
Eh, he didn’t take a wide open jumper in the lane with the shot clock running out to make Liam force a deep heave, is tentative on open men on the inbounds, and threw up that weird heave in the corner. He made a jumper, which was nice. I saw the same slow decision maker. We will need someone to spell Hassan and he does look like the better option right now. Cross your fingers.

I forgot one more accolade, Stewie. That put back slam sent a message. You can't win. Don't even try. I hear-by deflate you. After that play it was pretty much the Kam Jones show who almost won it by himself.
Don't forget the great Defense that Stewart played in that run. He finally was moving his feet and competing. I loved his energy and was a big reason for our run to get the lead in the 2nd half.

They are now - that’s all that matters.
You say that data matters. If that is the case, then Gonzaga is the best win between the two of us.

If Marquette loses to St. John's (a real possiblility) and even Xavier in the BET (another real possibility) and we keep winning, we will have a better resume than Marquette.

I mentioned this in the chat - but when you get open, shoot. Don’t even think about it. Just shoot. We set a lot of screens to get you that shot - don’t waste their effort. It’s hard to get open against a good defensive team and you aren’t necessarily going to get a better look by being patient.

And just as importantly, the defense gets scrambling and you can get a putback way more easily than when your own man contests your shot and everyone is at home.

Granted I’m not in on the exact game plan and coaching instructions, but as a fan I don’t mind good shots missing. What I hate is not taking them and then having to force up something worse.

I don’t think that’s how it works.
You think what Baylor, Zags and Texas were ranked in December matters? lol. Baylor and Texas are bubble teams today, Zags are on the 9 line. Purdue, Maryland and Wisconsin are 3-5 seeds, today.

So he goes for 38 two games after his ankle come back but it’s coming back to haunt him a month later?

He’s apt to a bad game, looked like a Freshman.
Creighton doesn't really play suffocating defense and he was basically shooting open 3s. He was being played tight in the Marquette game and he looked slow. He has never been great on D but I noticed his defense has been getting worst for the last few games and this one was really bad.

Maryland W on road, crushed Purdue at home and beat Wisconsin OOC. These are all top 15 teams. We’ve beaten a variety of Nancies OOC.
Take your piss somewhere else. It's March. Ya don't call 'em Nancies unless you're projecting about yourself. Step up & cheer for 2025 UConn.

Senior Night
Big East Tournament
NCAA Tournament

One game at a time.

I’m talking about their OOC record value and why they are being seeded higher than us through today. They have much better quality wins OOC and until tonight had the better conference record. We also have two hairy moles of losses they don’t.

looks like it's Aidan Mahaney to spell Hass. He seemed like he was a decison away a number of times from making some plays. A little bit more decisive, a touch of success and maybe just maybe he makes a difference. Stewart should come away from this one feeling decent as well. Those 2 are necessary! Didn't notice them getting roasted on D, but wouldn't swear they were anything but ok.
Mahaney was still bad on defense and had to foul one time to stop a player. He looks over matched but Hurley doesn't have any faith in the AN and I understand. Stewart definitely had a great impact on the game with his D and energy(Put back dunk). Mahaney is jus give Diarra 5-7 minutes of rest and not turn it over.
