Good call on AK. People have been down on him but I thought he played solid D all game. Also had four huge plays in the second half with that 3, lefty finish off the glass, prayer jumper at the end of the shot clock, and then a great feed to Samson for an and-1. He’s never going to be the all-American some think he should be, but he is still an excellent glue guy and fantastic 2nd or third option. Just wish he’d stop with his straight on drives into traffic. He legit gets stripped nine times out of ten.
Seemed like AK let the game come to him more today. Had a couple of great putbacks and was in the right spots a lot of times.

He can get about 10-15 a game off his IQ alone at this point without trying to create for himself and I think he did a lot of that today.

Solo Ball is an NBA player, enjoy him now.

Ross had his best game of the season at the best time. Bet he becomes a dude down the road.

Reed was fouled multiple times on his misses, think he played an underrated game.

Everyone wants to talk down on Alex when he struggles, 15 on 8 shots, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and blocks. All American performance for the Cap.

Just one negative. We need a backup point guard, Diarra was dying out there today, and we couldn't keep him off the floor. Nowells injury might be our achilles heel since Diarra will have to rest once he starts fasting.
Hurley substituting an injured Hass at the 7 minute mark, or whatever it was, to finish out the game spoke volumes. Hurley basically said, “I trust a very compromised Hass over Aidan with the game on the line.””

Imagine if UConn had gone with him instead of . . . UConn is just not an athletic team. They need one or two 6-10 athletic forwards.
What do you think Brea is? He's not all that athletic or a 6'10 forward so he's not filling either of your needs.

Has it been specified what exactly Diarra's injury is? With a healthy Liam we could probably do more Solo/Liam/Jaylin(or Ross) lineups at the 1/2/3 to get him some rest since Liam was doing alot more ballhandling and playmaking before he got hurt.

He has multiple injuries it seems. Sore knee from too many minutes and other small stuff is what the initial message from Hurley was.

There’s enough of a sample size on Brea now to make a judgment. Once every few weeks he’ll go on a heater and he’s a good weapon to have. But he’ll put up a lot of duds and he just doesn’t give you anything else at all. He’s a less reliable Joey C with less ballhandling and passing.

And as far as the Johnson/Reed and Ross/Stewart debates go, just play the guy who is better on any given night. Tonight it was Johnson and Ross.
We were so spoiled at the C position with Sanogo and Clingan the last couple years, I dont think we appreciate how good we actually have it with Samson and Reed, especially now that they've tamped down on the fouling. Most teams would kill for such a versatile tandem of centers.

The guy I’ve been vouching for since his freshman year and said he’ll be the guy all summer just dropped 25 and 10 in the biggest win of the year.

What you talking about? Lol
You spent all last year criticizing Solo Ball and Dan Hurley for him taking so many 3's. Sure seems like that was a good idea like people were telling you all along

We were up 9 with 51 seconds to go and announcer was saying, drive to the basket because "you know UConn does not want to foul."

Curious as to why we wouldn't foul in that situation since we only had four team fouls and a few players were not in foul trouble. So we had two to give and each one probably take about 10 seconds off the clock.

Know both are hugely valued in the NBA, but so are defense and ball handling for a 2 guard (and he’s a bit undersized for the 2).

Does he get drafted this year simply because he can shoot so well, and has athleticism to show potential as a slasher? Junior year Solo with the haul coming in would be a wild ride

If he keeps this up late first round doesn’t feel too crazy
As long as he doesn't fall off a cliff, he would definitely get drafted this year, maybe late first round. If he stays, keeps up the 3pt shooting numbers and AND becomes a better ball handler and defender and a reputation as a killer, he could possibly get himself into the lottery.

Aye if you think throwing up all those 3s last year is what made him a good shooter this year go for it. There’s no point in trying to teach you how this stuff works
