Marquette Post-Game Thread

I wasn't a fan of EW until recently. Inexplicably, she has [suddenly] upped her game. I view her as an offensive spark the way Aubrey was a defensive spark. No, she isn't a team leader but is certainly a newfound [important] contributor. On defense too!
Her teammates disagree with you.

Last season, Westbrook and her upperclassmen teammates had the responsibility of leading an unusually young UConn team on their way to another Final Four appearance. Westbrook played the role of the Swiss army knife, doing whatever it took for her team to win.

"It’s not about points with E," Christyn Williams told Hearst Connecticut. "She’s a great leader off the floor. She’s the 'mom' of our team. We love E to death."

I noticed that and I wondered why did she go on the court when it was just the trainers and Geno..I think Paige likes the cameras.. I really like watching Paige and her antics on the sidelines but she knows the cameras are on her quite often and I don't think she had any business going on the court..and Geno has already said that" Nika is the leader of the team even though other people think they are"

That would be a negative

You're right about the NBA becoming unwatchable

Very good game from Evina..It was AE's turn to have a good game but it was just mediocre at best.Defense was good except 2 or 3 times when there was miscommunication and they looked out of it..I hope Caroline never takes another 3 point shot..she simply is not a good 3 point shooter!! Now her slashing to the basket or taking her man low she is excellent..At 6'2" she is a nightmare for defenders..I hope she keeps that up.
I found it very interesting when they showed the stats comparing while Paige was playing the first 6 games and the 19 games since then and they were almost the same in all categories..I would have thought they would have been much better with Paige but this isn't the case
Re: "I hope Caroline never takes another 3 point shot... she simply is not a good 3 point shooter!!" I recommend taking a look on YouTube at some of the freshman's high school tapes. You'll see that she beat Azzi Fudd in a national 3 point contest, and she sank threes from as far as the NBA 3 point line, maybe the old NBA 3 point line. Caroline is a three-way scorer with 3s, creating off the dribble and posting up. She will be one of the greats for UConn in all likelihood.

OK then what do you theorize her low shooting % this year from..you can't say it's because she's a freshman cuz a lot of her misses are wide open
Jeez... being wide open has nothing to do with being a freshman.

Man - what a great team! So much fun to watch. Every player brings their little something to the table, and you never know just who is going to jump out and be that player of the game. All the Huskies seem like such nice kids and I'm so grateful for the fun they provide this couch potato every week. Congratulations!!!

I guess you can't read or understand the written word. If she is shooting 30% "she is making 3 OUT OF 10, if she makes 1 more OUT OF 10, it would be 4 OUT OF 10, or 40%.
Not "1 of the NEXT 10"...

Caitlin Clark is shooting 29.9 from three this season. Is she a bad 3 point shooter? And her sample size is huge. Should she stop shooting them?
...as long as you don't add, she's a "good" 3 point shooter.

Look if Geno doesn't stop her from shooting the 3's then I guess it's okay. Geno has noted that she is a great 3 point shooter so, why don't you leave up to him to decide and live with

Curious...why are you here? You seem to have very negative opinions about our players and have no problem expressing them. All the time.
I've followed Uconn womens basketball since Shea and Svet and am a diehard fan..I didn't realize they were "your" players but when people make ridiculous statements I''m going to mention it.. I'm not expressing my opionion when I present facts..facts don't lie

Too small of a sample size for a reliable percentage when discussing a freshman who started only a handful of games and then was injured.
She's shot more 3's than anyone on the team except CW..94 attempts is too small a sample size?
