We played a basketball game and we won against a good team in the big east that’s all.

Tyrese and Sanogo just absolutely did work down low tonight. I'll give Sanogo a pass for thinking he was Jokic in the second half.

42 points and 30 rebounds (10 offensive) between the two of them.

This game was won on the boards. Marquette has a huge problem in that area. We out rebounded them by 19. They matchup very poorly against us in that regard. Oh and our foul shooting was lights out!

Hurley’s 2nd half timeouts worked well. 10-0 run after the first, and put the game away after the second. Nicely done.

It sure feels like this game may have been a crossroads for our season. A loss would’ve made things really dark and glim. A win and some momentum heading into Xavier, now opens up a bunch of positive possibilities seeding wise

this team showed some fight for the first time in a while. that possession near the end and the Jackson steal looked like a team that wasn't going to allow themselves to go through a brutal loss again. let's keep it up.

Horrible week last week. Good start to this week. It was nice to see us get a win despite not getting much from Cole.

Outside of the 45 second spat of: RJ missed 3, Morsell 3, Adama missed Dunk, another Marquette 3

And the Adama bad turnover, bad force, caught in no mans land on switch spat

That was 38.5 minutes of pretty good basketball.

We even got a Hawkins sighting. I loved his dribble and rise for the mid range shot in the first half. He played some really good man to man defense in the second half too.

The best part about this win is that Hurley will let the team wear these uniforms more.

Great and much needed win, Marquette is really good. Sanogo had 24 and 15, he made some dumb plays and missed bunnies. It's scary to think of how dominant he'll be when he cleans that stuff up.

Tyrese said some of the recent poor performance is on him for not making the tough guy plays and getting his team and the crowd fired up. He played like a dog tonight and his teammates and the crowd fed off of it.

Great growth game for Hawkins, he hit big shots in the first half and I liked his defense, it's definitely improving and he needs to play a ton and be a major part of what we do in closing out this season.

It was nice seeing Rahsool so hyped up during the game cheering Hawk and the rest of them on.

Some negatives, there weren't many. 13-14 minutes left in the 2nd half up 9. Fastbreak and Polley turns down an open 3, Cole misses an open 3 on a fast break, Sanogo misses a wide open dunk. Morsell and Elliott hit back to back threes. 11 point lead cut down to 3 in the blink of an eye.. We simply have to cut out stretches like that, Marquette is too good to not go on a run but that one was all self inflicted. There was another one deep in the second half where Marquette cut it to 3 again and it was all self inflicted by Gaffney. Nice kid but he's totally unplayable.

We weathered both storms and closed it out like we needed to. The 4 possession off of one possession at the end of the game was all grit and Tyrese wouldn't let us give up that possession and I believe it was all right off of his tough offensive rebound score and steal.

Hurley coached a good game and is 2-0 against Shaka.

Also want to say the jerseys looked clean as heck. Our next uniforms should be inspired by the old schools.

I like the way we look with Hawkins at SG over Jackson. Our offense has much better spacing, looks more under control and organized. Although Jackson is an elite defender Hawkins is still a very good defender.
