I thought Marquette was overrated![]()
Notre Dame is just not playing well and has missed some fairly easy shots. Shepard missed a point-blank layup.
For all the Mickey D players Notre Dame has, they're the overrated ones.
Notre Dame has this one now, finally. And #3 Louisville has only now defeated winless Air Force by 12.
Amazing that ## 2 and 3 might have been badly upset today....
ND will probably cruise through the OT now that they dodged the regulation time bullet.

They were certainly overrated when they were ranked in the teens to start the season.I thought Marquette was overrated![]()
They were certainly overrated when they were ranked in the teens to start the season.
Now that they're unranked, I'd say they're no longer overrated.
Despite their 4 losses, Sagarin still had them ranked #24. The algorithm KNOWS ALL
I prefer Massey, where they are #42.
not just everyone else. Couple of weeks ago, UConn was down 11 in the 4th Q to some patsy. This is how it goes for everyone else.

I don't know the ins and outs either, but generally I find that Massey's rankings make more intuitive sense to me and Sagarin has some head-scratchers. Last year Sagarin had Michigan way overrated in the top 20 all season.I don't know the ins and outs of the algorithms. Sagarin is a little more fluid/swingier. Massey is stickier. I prefer the layout of the Sagarin website, so it's my go-to.
Westbeld deserves some credit also she played determined.Credit to Notre Dame for fighting through this one. Ogunbowale took over at the start of overtime with a couple quick buckets and Marquette was playing catch-up the rest of the way.
It's almost unbelievable that a team with no player over 6 feet tall can be this competitive with Notre Dame without being a good 3-point shooting team. Outside of bench player Spingola (who was 4 of 6 from three), Marquette was 2 of 22 from the arc.
Yes, Westbeld made some clutch plays down the stretch and in overtime.Westbeld deserves some credit also she played determined.
ND wasn't much better from beyond the arc. Maybe they hit several in OT but at one point late in the 4th I checked and I think they were something like 4-20 or so. Not a good shooting day for them...Credit to Notre Dame for fighting through this one. Exactly. Everyone ELSE.This is how it goes for everyone else.
