On M. Cristobal: Isn't he the coach with the hottie wife who owns a publishing company in Miami that caters to Miami's upper class? If so, he won't stray too far from Dade County.

I guess FIU has the right to think they can do better, and maybe they can get someone like Butch Davis to restart his career there, but they just had a good coach and got rid of him. Just a stupid move in my opinion.

FAU and FIU, yes. I went to event at one of them. I think it was FIU. I still get them confused.

UCF, no. I am however confused how Tampa is South Florida. Did they not realize that there was a couple of hundred miles of land to the south of them?

Todd Orlando is someone I'd love to see on the staff again one day. Him and Terry Richardson. But unless Donald Brown is leaving or becoming the head coach, presumably not happening at the present time.

At FIU sources tell us both Butch and the AD have denied the report of his hiring.

"Pete says the Butch stories are "totally false."
FIU executive director of sports and entertainment Pete Garcia said Monday afternoon when asked about the stories bouncing around the Internet that Butch Davis was in as FIU's next head football coach, "Butch Davis is not the FIU football coach. That story is totally false." So, that's the official word from Camp Mitch for now. Still, I'd say expect an announcement Jan. 2-6."

I'm w/Dan, let's build a staff of guys who can coach and recruit - short of a BIG invite, we are on an isalnd for a long time to come and need guys who can sell this program.

out of curiosity, regardless of your opinion on pp, do you think wm was going to go away from staff that can recruit and coach?
are there any programs that have coaches that do other things?
