Haters will continue to hate as long as you're doing something right! Having said that, GO UCONN!!! Continue WINNING so they can continue HATING!

Sure there is. She's dissing on UCONN.

How would you feel if they said TN was the best team in the SEC? Yea, you'd get them pitchforks too.

No, not really. It's either an opinion or a mistake.. Tennessee could be better than us in the end. But now we're comparing opinions to a slip of the tongue. If it was anything more she wouldn't have corrected her self later on.

I really don't think she was trying to slight UCONN.... but even if she was, is it really a surprise being that it's the SEC Network. There's a lot of conference chest thumping on there, just as there's a lot of UCONN chest thumping on SNY. If that bothers anybody then they probably shouldn't watch those respective channels geared to those respective demographics.

If SC was #1 and a UCONN commentator said UCONN was #1 I think you would be singing a different tune!

Overrated ...SEC cannot draw fly's
Jsloanjr , I don't know about that. They can draw flies , and plenty of fans for football . And for basketball in RoosterTown........what they haven't been able to draw is WCBB NC's.

Well I was in this situation for most of last season... I don't recall freaking out and getting mad every time a commentator said something like "SC may be #1 but UCONN is still the team to beat/best team"...

So no, you're incorrect.

IF it was a "slip of the tongue" then that is definitely dissing UCONN. One needs to take great care in respect to UCONN. A slip of the tongue shows she did not give due respect by taking great care with what she said concerning UCONN.

That is completely different comment. Completely. So no once again YOU are incorrect!!!!

Maybe I missed something, is there a poll where SC got voted #1?? I was watching that whip around coverage on the SEC Network tonight and Maria Taylor in the studio with Fortner & Landers. said: "And our last game of the night, South Carolina at Vanderbilt. Let's get it out to Nashville and the number one team in the Nation".

What's up with that?
Every year, this stuff goes on. Every conference(network) tries to enhance the ratings of the teams in their area. Let it go in one ear and out the other. Everyone knows the truth when the season is over. Everyone wants to be associated with a winner!

If Carolina plays anything like they played Vandy against Uconn thay are in for a rude awakening. Uconn does not have off nights on the big stage and takes no games lightly like SC did with Vandy last night. 1 point game with 4 minutes to go. Be very worried!

Ok. Clearly you just like e-yelling, telling people they're wrong and using lots of exclamation points. I don't know whether you're serious or trolling so I'm ending it here..

Yeah, it really could have been an honest mistake, I didn't mean to be insulting initially... just was my initial reaction, as in like, how can anyone forget about UCONN?!?!

Can't wait for the UCONN-SC showdown in Feb :)

Are you coming down for the game?

Why is SC struggling tonight? I've been told time and time again how great their posts are and they will be tough to match up with. Seems impossible they'd be struggling...

I know you wrote this before our game with Houston.

Humility is a valuable trait, IMO. Any team can struggle. In fact, every team does struggle at one time or another during the course of the season. That doesn't detract from the overall strength of the team.

We trailed at the end of the first quarter against a team that is substantially weaker than South Carolina's opponent, Vanderbilt. Does this mean that fans on the South Carolina board should be crowing about how this means UConn shouldn't be ranked 1?

Who is Maria Taylor anyways? Not to be rude but who is she?
Former UGA basketball & volleyball player, current SECN(ESPN) sports analyst

I would expect nothing less.
