Marchand: Yanks interested in Travis Hafner

Marchand is quoting from a WEEI report that the Yankees and Hafner are near a deal. He fits into their age category- 35, and he's been hurt a lot. He only played in 66 games last year, and he made $13 million!
I don't know about any other Yankee fans, but I'm getting a little nervous as the season draws near. Help me off the ledge!

This terrifies me as a Sox fan. His performance is trending down, he's getting older. When the Yanks sign a guy like this he tears it up. Book him for 20 HR at least next year

Marchand and Wally Mathews are both reporting that Haffner can play first base. Checking the numbers he hasn't played an inning in the field since 2007 when he played a total of 11 games. The guy dosen't own a glove.
