It annoys me that all the 1 or 2 seeds today have an individual time slot, and
the two 4/5 games and a 3/6 game which figure to be more competitive, are
all bunched in one time slot. I don't understand ESPN's rationale in continuing
to feature the highest seeded teams in noncompetitive games.

The OSU guards look like they cant dribble and are afraid against the TN press which I admit is very good. Then when they break it, they don't attack. Probably switching to the women's tennis final.

Yep. Tough call between Oregon St./Tenn, DePaul/A&M and the finals at Indian Wells. Decided for now on DePaul/A&M. Blue Demons 24-14 with 8 to go 2nd quarter. Yoohoo

Okay which first half was more exciting, UConn - SF or OSU - Tenn. I'll take yesterday's game over the one on right now. Watching paint dry is more exciting.

Leslie with a steal and took it to the hole...then she does it again and NC State up 24-13. Timeout Maryland...8:40 left 2nd quarter.

I did not take into account the ineptness of TN. Letting OSU back. OSU 24 TN 23

Edit Rennia Davis hits buzzer beating 3pt shot for 26-24 lead at half. TN intrinsically can't shoot.

If Princeton didn't do it, at least NC State....

Don't underestimate the Tenn Helter Skelter defense in the last 5 minutes of a game. Saved a few games when DD was their fearless leader. A strategy roughly equivalent to St. Francis: let chaos reign. BUT this is what Tenn does, they unravel.

wish they had Holly miked up.

Did you enjoy the first halves of the Baylor/Grambling game or the MSU/Nicholls game?
By the way, Tenn/ OSU is a competitive game. You don't enjoy it?

TN has 25+ seconds to run a final play. They do nothing until Davis heaves up a deep 3 pointer which goes in. To have run no offense there is ... well, pretty bad.

I enjoy good basketball, not mistake basketball. They have more turnovers than assists.

Spokane regional next week could set a point record if Notre Dame, DePaul, Ohio State, and Oregon are all there.

DePaul 43-28 at half. A&M has no outside game to speak of.

Halftime: NC State leads Maryland, 32-26...but Maryland finished the 2nd quarter on a 13-8 run.

NC State shot 46.2% in the half...was 2 of 5 from THREE and was 6 of 7 from the FT line.

Maryland shot 29% in the first half...was 8 of 14 from the FT line and did not make a THREE.

NC State outrebounded Maryland 20-19.

NC State turned the ball over 10 times, many of them careless and allowed Maryland to chip away at a double-digit lead. The Terps turned the ball over 6 times.

Foul trouble will plague NC State in the second half; Maryland was going inside a lot and the Wolfpack racked up a lot of fouls. Chelsea Nelson, Kayla Ealey and Akela Maize all with two fouls each.

Kiara Leslie leads N C State in scoring with 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Akela Maize had 8 points, Kayla Ealey with 5 and Chelsea Nelson had 4 points and 4 rebounds.

For Maryland, the bench was crucial; Brianna Fraser leads with 9 points and Ieshia Small 7 while Stephanie Jones was the highest-scoring of the starters with 4 points. Jones and Kaila Charles for Maryland have 2 fouls each.

Feel bad for OSU, playing against 8. These refs have missed a clear TN double dribble, multiple travels, multiple charges and Russell grabs a long rebound, falls and they call Gulich for her 3rd foul because she was running near her...Unbelievable.

DePaul 50 A&M 42. DePaul had a comfortable lead earlier in Q3 but A&M 13-2 counterattack. Anriel Howard playing like a champ.

It's an exciting, up-and-down game. Some great plays mixed in with some sloppy plays. But both teams are playing really hard and there's a ton of energy in the gym. Credit to the NC State fans for turning out, and Maryland brought some fans with them as well.

I'm especially impressed with the season NC State has had. I figured they'd take a step back after graduating their two best players last season, but this year's team has been every bit as good, if not better.
