I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. Do you think that the players are going to try less hard to spite Manuel? I don't think that is the case at all.

Reality: The team is not winning.
Reality: The players and coaches have the most direct impact on the teams results.
Perception: The program is not considered big time by outside observers because the team is not winning.
Perception: The program does not deserve a seat at the big boy table because it is not big time.

Outside perception = team's reality.

The head coach was not changed this year, so the responsibility of changing perception falls to the players. A s**tty deal to be sure, but as I've said before its what they signed up for and knew it going in.

Um, no. I think that the players would think that Ward was a clueless jackass and that the coach was lame if he had to send his mom to talk to them.

That said, all Yarders sticking up for MIA AD are wrong. Flat out wrong. To say "this won't happen" without telling those players their coach won't be held responsible is irresponsible. It is mot the players fault. HCPP was a bad hire and he needs to go.

A college AD has no business going into the locker room to get on the players, that's the coaches job, it's the AD's job to get on the coach behind closed doors. Warde sounds like a guy that doesn't know his place.

If it was a motivational speech, then that's fine, but this sounds like blame and finger pointing.
