Makes me appreciate our 4 titles

Looking at Gonzaga, you realize how many things have to go right to win one championship, let alone four.
We definitely got spoiled after 2011, and 2014 made it look easy. Particularly guys who hadn’t suffered through the near misses of the 1990’s , NC’s became a birthright.
For those of us who suffered through that decade it seemed like a FF would not be in the cards let alone a NC.
We understand the pain of teams like Gonzaga.
Duke, MSS, Florida, UCLA , and Maryland are etched in our minds.

Every year come tournament time I have two wishes. First, obviously, is for the Huskies to win. Second, for Kansas to lose so we still have more championships than that storied program. It really is amazing when you step back and think about it.

I was happy to be able to fly this flag again this year; I was sorry it didn’t fly longer:

That 2011 and 2014 both happened to UConn is the real insanity. I assume the AAC purgatory was some part of our side of the deal with the devil that was made to secure those two.

Perfect storms, both times. The tl;dr explanation is: upperclassmen and guard play.

Even in 99 we needed a miracle. Shows the thin line between victory and defeat, epitomizing March Madness:

Gotta give credit where credit is due. Can't say JC had outcoached his opponents without saying Ollie didn't.

Ollie beat Martelli, Jay Wright, Fred Hoiberg, Donovan, Izzo and Calipari. At least 3 of those coaches are or should be in the Hall of Fame.

Point taken, but.... it says it right there on the still shot: 1998

Agreed. Ollie is a great man and was a great coach at times. I hope that he regroups and comes back to lead another team. He has a lot to offer.

the 90s before 99 made me wonder "is UConn ever going to make the FF?" the 1994 loss to Florida still annoys me.

2014 was a surprise to me. After the big east tournament in 2011 I expected we would win it all. I imagine a lot of us felt that way

The kid on Washington who they show on the ground at the 26 second mark looks like Ben Eaves.

Makes me appreciate how good we were in 1990, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2014. Did I miss any years that we were legitimate title contenders? We were spoiled and the road ahead may be difficult but I believe we have the right man in charge to get us there. Let's Go Huskies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How could you not appreciate that, Two years when UCONN came out of nowhere riding the best player in the tournament. No matter how old you get you will have those memories. That's why you just want to get into the tournament, you just never know. Look what Juzang almost pulled off this year, unbelievable.

Could you imagine going on another team's message board that has 4x the number of national championships as the program you root for and talking _____?

The GMac era at Syracuse is going to be something.

The Laettner shot in the dream season still annoys me!
