Don’t forget our girls Cheli and PattersonGood look to Makeer. To be honest Blanca, Sarah & Caroline would have made it very difficult for Makeer to find PT at the 3/4 spot in UConn’s lineup.
Yes, I’d overlooked Morgan who is another talented 3/4. As for Ayanna, I think we’re talking about a player more comfortable in a the paint as a 4/5.Don’t forget our girls Cheli and Patterson![]()
I knew there was no way she was going to Michigan St.Agot Makeer commits to South Carolina. UCONN was a finalist for the #4th ranked 2025 recruit.
lol why?I wonder if Caroline deciding to return had anything to do with her decision.
PG will be a challenge. It took a while, but this year Kaitlyn has shown she has the quickness, shooting ability and the BB IQ to start with Paige picking up the ball at halfcourt. Probably have to try KK (shooting?) or Ash (ball handling?) there until Kelis, who certainly has the quickness can learn the system. I would like to see Azzi operate like Paige, picking up the ball at halfcourt and running the offense. Interestingly enough, it seems as though the team has 3 other options to handle the ball in Sarah, Morgan and Bianca. Certainly there will be a battle for post as you mention and we could play a very BIG lineup at times. Allie will see more time in reserve, Caroline is a total unknown and I would no be surprised to see Q leave to get more playing time elsewhere.Next year the backcourt will likely be
And the frontcourt will likely be
- KK Ash Allie Kelis Morgan and maybe Azzi
This looks like a very interesting roster. Good size up front, lots of ball handlers, and if Azzi returns there will be 4 perimeter threats.
- Jana Ice Ayanna Gandy at the 4/5
- Sarah Morgan Bianca Q and Caroline at the 3/4
The personality of the team will be entirely changed after Paige. Who will be the ‘bucket getter’ going forward? Sarah, maybe, and Ash, and Azzi. Who will be ‘the rock’ everyone can rely on in a close game? Sarah again, and Ash, Caroline if she can fully come back. Allie was the rock for her high school teams, and it would be wonderful to see her become that again at the next level. The same goes for Ash. And Jana. If she can develop her game and become a 30 min/game player her big heart could become a huge factor for the team.
SC is pretty populated at those positions too it seems to me.Good luck to Makeer. To be honest Blanca, Sarah & Caroline would have made it very difficult for Makeer to find PT at the 3/4 spot in UConn’s lineup.
What if I told you a team once had three 6’2 PFs in the same class, and they all did just fine?Good luck to Makeer. To be honest Blanca, Sarah & Caroline would have made it very difficult for Makeer to find PT at the 3/4 spot in UConn’s lineup.
I like KK at point and Chen at the 2 better if they are on the floor at the same time. It's a better use of KK's speed and Chen's shooting.PG will be a challenge. Well that’s fine, although I would suggest that Makeer is a wing, not a power forward. What if I told you a team once had three 6’2 PFs in the same class, and they all did just fine?
Yes and Dawn has been hitting the transfer portal pretty hard over the past few seasons. I am reminded that she has 3 true Bigs on her roster, none of which get any substantial PT during big games. But that being said, Makeer is a good enough shooter alone, that she should be able to earn some PT on a SC team that does not possess a lot of shooters.SC is pretty populated at those positions too it seems to me.
lol why?
Why so derisive and sarcastic? What if I told you a team once had three 6’2 PFs in the same class, and they all did just fine?
