Glory days. It's weird but the better the facilities get for Randy, the worse the team performs.2002
If I recall, UConn played UMass twice in either '98 or '99, didn't they (I'm not looking it up)?Or 1999?

We did too98. UMass won NC
So I said the MAC didn’t want us - so take your dumb comments and go elsewhere. Oh ya. PLEASEWhat negotians start with “please”? - to the fan who said MAC didn’t want us. And I assure you the MAC doesn’t want you if ESPN doesn’t at least pro-rate adding, BUT if ESPN opens contract and UConn doesn’t dilute our money and adds BBall profile like they were trying with Temple than we would listen. Also, we been burned by UCF, Temple, and UMass so expect a buyout commitment. If that is reasonable to UConn fans and admin it could happen. We are (hate to admit it) the G5 mirror of the Big Ten and have been trying to expand East like the B10 did with Penn State (Buffalo) , Maryland (Temple), and Rutgers (UConn:UMass)

And all UConn fans should never forget: The year UMass won the NC, they lost to UConn twice.98. UMass won NC

Just for the sake of accuracy. UConn played UMass twice that year, both were regular season games due to a schedule quirk. There was no A10 championship game.We beat them in the regular season and the A10 div championship game then we lost in the FCS playoffs to a team Umass beat for the national title. .

the quirk of boston university dropping football after the 97 season
Didn't BU announce that move in 1995 right before they played in Storrs? I swear I remember them on Memorial in white unis with black electrical tape covering-up all BU logos & lettering, etc.

My belief is winning brings fans. Before you go off on us 13,374 was a very good crowd, never mind it was a midweek November game. Stadium capacity is current 17k. Losing kills fan support, it's all about winning and believe you certainly can win in the MAC. From November 2014. A rivalry game on ESPN between UConn - UMass would attract decent attendance.Nothing like a cold wet Tuesday night at the Rent. Those Maction crowds always look great on the tele. You can actually count the attendance as the night rolls on.

For the University of Massachusetts football program, the Wednesday night home game against Ball State was the first real test in three years as to whether Amherst and Western Massachusetts is still tuned in to its team.
If we join the MAC I will never go to another UConn game. An occasional game or two on the schedule is enough.
About the sameso you think seeing tulane is somehow better than seeing toledo? ok

I think Buffalo to the AAC would be good for both of them. The AAC views things differently.Petition to support Buffalo to the AAC...
