Interesting, hard fought game at the Casino where an undermanned Seattle outlasted the Sun in overtime. We came up from the city to see all the alum,
- Tina had a pretty good game but completely disappeared in crunch time, made some wonderful offensive rebounds and put-backs earlier
- Sue also had her ups and downs. Made some great steals and coast-to coasters; Near the end missed two free-throws that could have been the game and as the overtime started she threw one away; the pro that she is, she stepped up with a great assist and a 3.
- Asjha Jones was near unstoppable.
- Kalana Green was quiet until she wasn't, hit a bunch all together.
- Svetta (the main reason I went) was only allowed a few minutes, scored and looked fine.
- Renee was terrif getting into the middle at times and at other times was out of control and lost the ball; shooting well.
Other non-UConn players of note
- Kara looks great, always under control, shooting lights out.
- Camille Little was unstoppable
- But the player I couldn't take my eyes off was Tina Thompson, who looks like she could play for another 10 or 20 years. long range bombs, tough drives to the hoop and good pro D, along with lots of boards.
- Katie Smith played almost the whole game, hit a big 3 in overtime but did not contribute offensively other than not, may be past her use-by date; I bet Svetta gets minutes from her.
The arena is great, UConn should play there, free parking, other entertainment, lots of restaurants, etc. Gets my vote.
