Hurley’s persona-non-grata to UNC cuz a) he’s too bombastic and perhaps equally important, his last name.

TBH, if UNC had stones they would’ve interviewed Luke.

Although anecdotaly, it seems like UNC (and UK) fanbases like Hurley and UConn more than others. Of course that might partially be due to how we slap around Duke.

Read in Saturday's JI that Luke Murray was instrumental in the recruiting of Clingan, McNeeley, Mullins and Cam Spencer. Those guys all happen to be white. Is that typical in recruiting for the white coaches to recruit the white players and the black coaches to recruit the black players? I wouldn't think so but the article made me wonder. I don't care what color skin the players are we recruit as long as they win. Just curious if this is still a thing. Not blaming anyone just curious. Maybe it was just coincidence or poor reporting by the JI but it sounded odd to me.

Good question. My guess is that it is not so "black vs. white" as the article probably unintentionally implied.

I love Taliek, but I don't want him as Luke's replacement. St. John's whole strategy is abandon high school players in favor of transfer portal guys. Pitino - at his age - doesn't want to spend the time developing a culture and program but rather building a new roster year-after-year.

To that end, I'm very skeptical that Taliek can do well on the high school recruiting front. We need a guy who is well connected on the AAU circuits. I think of Taliek a lot like I viewed Kevin Freeman. I wasn't in love with that hire even though he was a UConn guy.

Luke had the Duke scout which means Kimani would likely have the Illinois scout anyway. Doubt it's having any impact on their prep

Kimani has the illinois plan and Luke would have the next game of they keep alternating. Im assuming the next 3 days its all business and he gets his ass back to work

I would be shocked if he isn't doing the scout as well. He isn't at practice/walkthroughs/whatever....but I have no doubt that Luke can figure out how to balance this without impacting his commitments.
