On the site tigerdroppings (biggest lsu fan site) someone is claiming to know for a fact Angel is about to be suspended from the team and insinuated it was grade related. Don’t shoot the messenger here for just telling you what is being said, I have no knowledge of anything. A ton of public social media warfare going on currently though between player parents and even some former players and parents as well…(Carson and Morris). It appears Angel and Flaujae’s moms are beefing with each other and Morris’s mom involved.
 
While the soap opera drama may be entertaining, provided the team continues to win, causal fans won't care in the end. Too many examples of teams that were somewhat dysfunctional who ended up succeeding to name.

Until conference and tournament play happens, we won't really know whether this internal stuff will have an impact. LSU pulled away after half time versus Kent without Reese or Poole. I take that as a sign the team can still compete regardless.

I saw something on Twitter about angel being suspended from the team as well

The team is still very talented without Reese and Poole, so they should be fine. Won't win any conference titles or nattys with or without them, but can still make a deep run in the tourney.
 
My hunch is LSU will figure out how to NOT suspend Reese (IF the academic rumors are true….IF) , they never pay any attention to NCAA matters (witness the issues with their former MBB coach) and I really don’t disagree with them; since the UNC academic scandal which resulted in no penalties why any school would voluntarily bow to them now is a puzzle.

Dont get me wrong, I’m not supporting any of it, and I still hold players as student athletes. But the UNC episode showed how toothless the NCAA really is and if punishments are not given out equally, blue bloods included, then I don’t support playing nice on an uneven field of play so to speak.

For six years plus, UNC athletes were enrolled in fake classes with no attendance requirements and yet the NCAA did not/chose not/could not do anything in punishments. After that fiasco, I’d say the script was written going fwd for others to follow. Either every school is treated equally or else you don’t even bother with the regulating authority anymore as they were either corrupt or toothless. Either way, I know, it sucks, collegiate athletics is not the same as it once was. Again, no idea if the LSU rumors are true, maybe not tbh.

Backstory:

Angel Reese is being a jerk to some of her teammates because she has been called out for her lack of work and effort this season and during the offseason. That set off the feud between Angel and Flaujae's moms. Angel and Flaujae's moms are immature school girls and should grow up instead of airing out your dirty laundry on your social media.

Anyone who followed Jasmine Carson and her mom, they have been throwing shade at Angel Reese since the national title in April because everything became about Reese while Carson's 21 point performance in ways got over looked. So while out the NIL deals rolled in for Reese, there was some significant jealousy between Reese and Carson/Morris. Reese had an outing with Carson/Morris at the ESPY's and haven't talked since then so there is a lot of tension.

Carson and Morris have no 'damaging' information but instead have tried to milk the attention on their social media saying they 'have receipts' only to walk it back, which Ladazhia Williams called them out on it. Morris then going to her social media saying she will 'tell all' if she gets so many followers etc, nothing is happening.

LSU will be serviceable this year regardless of the drama but IMO the sooner Reese leaves LSU the quicker they can get to normalcy. And its unfortunate because players like Hailey Van Lith, Morrow, the freshmen class have been nothing but good teammates and trying to integrate all year only to be ruined by things they never were involved in.

All I know is flauejea’s mom posted something towards Reese’s mom. Then 2 ex players and one of their moms chimed in. One ex player said she got the tea and her mom said she got the receipts. We’re all waiting for it to spill

I’m still surprised Morrow went there. Hailey Van Lith didn’t really surprise me but Morrow didn’t seem to me like she had the same sort of attitude. I can’t imagine going from so under the radar DePaul to this messy LSU team.

My local Gophers got hammered (rightfully so) for academic cheating on term papers back in the Clem Haskins days. Really miffed me when the UNC academic fraud, that was institutionalized, got a 100% pass from the NCAA. Blue bloods always get an NCAA get-out-of-jail pass. I knew Roy Williams would get a pass.

I may have mentioned a chemistry issue when everyone anointed the NCs when they add Hailey Van Lith and Morrow. This team is a train wreck and will likely get worse before it implodes. Even the players parents are fighting.

Except morrow and Hailey Van Lith have nothing to do with the drama. You have Reese getting into altercations With Flaujae and poole with their parents being cut throat on IG. We gotta stop lumping Hailey Van Lith and morrow into things that they didn’t cause. I don’t think it’s fair to them

If Reece is out for a while, I actually think that'll benefit team chemistry. I always thought their issue was "team fit" for the transfers. Hailey Van Lith is transitioning to PG and Morrow brings a similar skill set to Reece. With Reece out, I think Morrow will flourish and I think the players will start finding their roles and providing a better product on the floor. Reece's height will be missed but that's about it IMO.

Don't get me started on UNC and their little academic fraud scheme.
 
I knew Reese didn't have a GPA over 2.0 (needs 1.8 to be eligible) since she really wasn't in the mix for any of the POA last season & that was one of the requirements. This is all on Kim Mulkey, she built this roster, let her figure it out LOL.
 
It is very puzzling to me why Kim did not do anything last season to “reign in” Reese. Some of the things Reese did on the court were extremely disrespectful to opponents. You just did not see this sort of thing with any of Kim’s Baylor teams and there were big personalities on some of those teams. I do think Kim is partially responsible for this mess since she did nothing last season and let things get out of control.

They are taking the spotlight away from the Princess so they have a lot to do with the drama. Not there fault mind you but it is what it is.

Very good point. I mentioned Reese's actions and attitude a few times last year and many didn't like it. I do, however, believe this is a very big problem, and give Mulkey props for her "attitude adjustment" strategy!
