I bet many of you were worried when you found out that Stewie was not playing. You were thinking can UConn win. Who's gonna start in her place. You weren't sure what to expect. Im sure you didn't expect a 46 pt win. Now think about next season. I know Mojeff was still playing and she had a terrific game. I don't think there is any argument that a 46 pt win without Stewie is un-be-liv-able. Well guess what? Katie Lou and Collier are going to get better. A lot better and become more consistent scorers. I think we will be great again next season. For all those concerned about next season that's a little premature. Don't forget ND Baylor SC MD all lose a lot of key players. Don't forget we are UConn and with Geno at the helm we are a well oiled machine with interchangeable parts. I really like this team and next year well be patient because I think we're in for a very big surprise.

Merry Christmas

With the offense struggling a little bit, the team still scored 86 points and with Stewart not playing! Add in a few bunnies missed and they could have broken 90 easily. And defensively - wow. LSU is not Baylor or ND or SC, but they are also not Colgate even with the depleted roster.

It will not be easy next year, but it will still be good.

I actually enjoyed watching the new lineup (w/o Stewie) with 2 frosh and a soph. They struggled a bit on offense but looked excellent on defense. Their weak side help and switching was very good. As we think (a little) about next year, hopefully we add in a healthy Natalie. That will add shot blocking and a tall post to run the offense through some of the time. Also I assume the 5 who started had not practiced as a unit. To me that says a lot about how well coached this squad is.

While many may have been worried about Stewart's injury, I would bet that there were not many (if any) that doubted the team would win. I'll admit that I didn't expect the 46 point MOV though.

IIRC, LSU was without it's 2 best players - Ballard and I forget the other kid. Given that scenario, I knew it would be a blowout, with or without Stewie.

I was looking forward to it; a nice little rest for her.
I believe Geno was too, see what the next generation could do.
We saw a lot of good things for the future.
