Loved uconn El -Amin

The game he had at Stanford in the 99 season was amazing as well as the following year vs Arizona. He was a rare point guard..one who provided stability in running the offense and one who could score when needed.

KEA was so good. I guess he would #3 as a UConn PG, right behind Kemba and Shabazz

Not sure there’s another husky I’d rather at the free throw line with the game on the line. Those ones to put us up 3 in the final were good as soon as they fouled him. Onions on the bball court don’t really come any bigger than KEA.

Khalid could arguably be the captain of a UConn all swagger team, no doubt.

As a fellow Minneapolis North alum and Minneapolis native, Khalid still has that confidence and he is a legend here in Minneapolis!
He was awesome. The first Calhoun Charity game at Mohegan Sun was great. Everybody got their minutes throughout but as the end of the game came near, these guys wanted to win it was tremendous. KEA had a mid-court shot for the win, it just barely missed and he was visibly disappointed. Like JC always said, if your gonna keep score...

One of my favorite UConn players of all time and I had season tickets for over 40 yrs since 1975 or 1976. Still have a cancelled check for $40 for season tickets at the field house 1976.

That Pitt game was a classic - the announcers naming a Pitt player - player of the game with 2 mins to play - KEA jumping on the table after the game and pointing to the fans.

I was at the 1999 championship game - Duke fans running all over the place prior to the game shouting we are on train that can’t be stopped. Yeah right.

Could you imagine KEA running the point on that 94-95 team? That would’ve resulted in the first national title. This is no shot at KO but KEA was more of a complete point guard.

I was there too. The Dookie section was chanting "We're Outstanding!" before the game started. One of my fondest memories ever was walking out of the Dome and watching those same fans with tears running down their faces. 'Outstanding' didn't last very long.

I'm in line and I have a Dookie behind me saying "You guys had a nice season but tonight's gonna be too much. Too much shooting, too much D, too much Coach K , too much Elton Brand. Too much!" As bad as that was, Dookies are still better than Sparty.

You can't win six without winning the first. He's the one that got us over the hump.
I remember when it was announced that Calhoun had signed him. I don’t remember the exact words that JC had used but it was something along the lines that this kid is going to help our program a lot.

Love Khalid. Was a freshman alongside him in 97.

He had a remarkable career with many championships and buzzer beaters along the way.

This one started it off:
HS state championship buzzer beaters

He won a bunch of chips in various European leagues, winning mvp and MOP a several times as well. Someone above said he missed the game winner in the JC charity game but I thought I remembered reading that he had won one of them.

I'm sure he did but not the first game. My point was that it would have been a miracle shot and it just missed. And it looked to me that he thought he shoulda had it.

Loved’m when he got into it with all the Pitt fans, one of my top 5 UConn basketball memories.
I'll never forget that moment after that incredible comeback win when he jumped on the scorers table grabbing his UConn jersey shouting at all those obnoxious Pitt fans who were harassing him all game long. I wish I had a recording of that game Can anyone dig up a clip of the that moment?

He was a one of a kind combo talent & personality. He was exactly what they needed to put them over the top.

The young UConn generation points to Cam Spencer as that iconic emotional leader, but KEA was all that and more 2 1/2 decades earlier. I don't think I ever thought of that comparison till now.

Here's the last 18 seconds of that game.
