At least the team played better in the 4th quarter of this game compared to their other 2 defeats. Definite improvement. Dorka and Caroline seem to be getting more comfortable and showing their skills. The seniors need to get better in big games.

Why, she left because she wasn't getting any PT. Now there is plenty of guard minutes to go around, and she would probably be getting some valuable playing time. It is very reasonable to ask that maybe she pulled the portal finger prematurely.
Stop it.

I have a pet peeve. I absolutely hate two 3-pt lines on a court, and I think the players do as well. The inside line has no purpose other than creating confusion. Every arena that hosts college basketball games needs to invest a few dollars and redo their court with the new 3-pt line only.
I agree with you on this 100%, but the basketball court provided in today's games was from the Basketball Hall of Fame and not the Mohegan Sun.

CW should want the ball in the 4th and she should make plays. She hasnt. Early in the game she was making plays. Evina is playing point guard under alot of pressure. Still she needs to want the ball and make plays We lack our point guard just like Stanford and some other teams. We also are lacking a bench right now. Dont blame not playing the kids who left. We have Paige CW and Azzi all HS number 1's Evina HS number 2 Caroline HS number 3-5 and HS number 3&4 next year coming in next season. We're loaded for the next 4-5 years. Lets face it unless your a superstar your not cracking the lineup and may not be able to get alot of playtime. We've got a tuff road ahead of us this season but we can do it when we all get healthy and get a few games under our belt. We can also do it when our seniors step up and make plays. Now the holiday layoff and Dec 29 we got Marquette another really tuff game.
Why do you keep pumping these ranking numbers out all the time to justify your points? These numbers became meaningless the day the players arrived at UConn. This is college BB. The lower ranked kids that are beating them don't care about their 5 stars.

All things considered, these losses would be somewhat more palatable if Amari
we’re getting some of CW’s minutes.
Or something...

Amari is a very good player who doesnt know Geno's system yet. The announcer said CW jumped on her for not being in the right place and missing a cutter. Amari will be fine.

I find it distasteful to see so much negativity around CW. Can't you see she's doing everything she can to contribute? She's trying her best. It's not a situation where she isn't trying. Her game is just not suited for playing against zone defenses. She's certainly trying and in some environments she would be more suited. She's still a great player. Not every game is going to be an all star performance for any player.
How can you be a great player but only contribute under certain circumstances? That's ridiculous.

Not to satisfy my points. The reason others are not playing is because these kids ahead of them are getting the playtime because of what theyve done.

What does that mean "provided?" Like Mohegan Sun has no court if not for the Basketball Hall of Fame? Doesn't Mohegan Sun own enough wood to make a court on its own? Why would someone else have to provide the wood and such to make a court?

I honestly agree with this. It seems like after every game, we hear how player x's game isn't suited to this type of defense. If you are a great player, you have the ability to score in multiple ways, against multiple defenses. If for example, your only way to score is off the drive, then you aren't versatile enough to be effective.

UConn played a tough game against a good team...

It was Louisville who pulled it out with shooting...but the Cards have beaten teams ranked on the last Coaches Poll like Michigan and Kentucky and they played Arizona to OT....

AS Nan posted...if ever there is a thing called a moral victory, this game was one.

does anyone think ONO and/or CW will use a covid year and stay? CW is tiffany hayes 2.0, she will probably slip in the draft, but i think she will be really good as a 4th, 5th, 6th option on a WNBA team (as someone else mentioned)... but one thing i need to see is geno benching the players who aren't playing up to UConn standards.

there was a game at providence maybe 15 years ago, he pulled the players and i think like stacey marron probably was in the game over a starter... geno needs to pull CW and bench her. sometimes you learn the hard way

Also Rebecca Lobi is getting hard to listen to. It seems she goes out of her way to to be impartial. Over complimentary towards UConns opposition. Complimenting the Louisville guard Robinson like she was all world all game while she did absolutely nothing for them. I’m sure she is a good defensive player for them but cmon, really.
I think your being harsh, she seemed fair to imo

What they've done where? HS? No Auriemma doesn't care what their HS ranking was. They're playing because he has nobody ready to replace them. That's why they're playing.

if this is true, CW has some nerve.
As a senior, if she doesn't coach/mentor the younger players, then she hasn't learned anything in 4 years. It has nothing to do with her output from a points perspective. That one piece of correction could make a difference in upcoming games.

GREAT!! Really how can you look at the Great players UConn has had and put Christyn in that group, I really wish she was,I really hate to say,but the teams of Collier,Samuelson,Dangerfield and Walker wasn’t Great, there should have been at least one championship. Megan Walker an All-American?Megatron didn’t produce enough..I’m sorry for ranting, but our Senior class isnt great
