Only read the first two pages but it's like 90%+ that want him out. And the rest are just saying wait until the season is over

A friend of mine lives in Louisville and was telling me a few days ago that there's a large portion of fans who want Pitino gone.

Can't say I'm surprised.

Between the restaurant incident and then calling Kentucky Camelot, the fans soured on him. He's his own worst enemy.

Wow, rough crowd. I can see their point. Besides the 1 Final Four his teams at Louisville have generally disappointed in the NCAA Tournament.

I'm reading their board and they're saying Siva fouled out on purpose, I didn't watch the game, are they just overreacting or did that actually happen?

It was an unbelievably bad foul, but most likely the assclowns on the Louisville board are overreacting.

If I were a UL fan, I'd be torn on Pitino. On the one hand, he's done a tremendous job getting his teams to overachieve during the regular season (particularly when taking into account the constant injury problems), but they've certainly underwhelmed in the tourney since 2004.

It almost seems as if that program has plateaued a bit when it should've taken off. Combine that with his habit of shooting himself in the foot when he talks to the media, and I can definitely understand why the fans want him out.

I was sitting next to a guy from Louisville at the Big East Championship game last year and he was saying how he does not like Pitino and a lot of Louisville fans felt the same way. I was really surprised when i heard that. Now this news does not shock me

announcers said the same thing about Siva. They said thats a foul you make when you dont want to play anymore. His body language didnt exactly disagree

A couple of years ago when we all thought Calhoun was going to retire, there was thread after thread hoping that we would reach out to Jamie Dixon and Jay Wright. And if we thought he was actually available, I'm sure everyone would have signed up for Rick Pitino as well.

Here we are in 2012 and the competency of each of those coaches is being questioned by their respective fan bases.

There is a lot less competency on message boards than there is in the coaching ranks.

not me, I wouldn't trade Jimmy from the day he walked on campus, and I hope he wants to coach 10 more years

when we were looking to replace Perno, he was the candidate I wanted all along based on his success at Northeastern and the fact that they were one of the nation's best rebounding teams and they kicked our

Here it is:

“I almost went to Connecticut, it was Connecticut or UMass,” the Louisville coach told SNY.tv during an exclusive interview Tuesday at Hudson Catholic High School. “I remember when they were struggling to win the Yankee Conference. In all of sports, the greatest building job I’ve seen in my life was done at Connecticut. The Big East has taken them from a Yankee Conference school” to where they are now.
“With that being said, how can you want to leave? Why would you want to leave? My biggest mistake I made in my life is when I left Camelot [Kentucky]” to lead the Boston Celtics in 1997. “They’re leaving Camelot. It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of.”

Thought I was seeing things on espn this morning when that score flashed across the screen. Louisville played with grit and heart when they lost to Kentucky and then losing some games after but this beatdown is hard to comprehend. How good is PC? Do the cards only play us tough no matter what? Did they really lay down and quit out there? How the hell does Cotton and Batts both get 27pts. I would not yet count Louisville out of anything yet but this must be killing them down there. Where is senore who could shed some light on all of this. Calling Senore , come in please.

There had to be a lot of "quit" involved. How does a team that prides itself on defense, and usually backs it up, give up 90 points to a conference cellar dweller?

Lville fans are morons. That program was irrevlant since the early 90s, he put them back on the map. Last year they were up in arms that he should be coach of the year, now they want him fired.

Those fans should be fired.

I think you're right on with this- but, things only become clearer when the team is losing. Gosh, that restaurant thing was pretty bad. I imagine most people in such a high profile position would be fired for something like that.

However, UL fans were willing to put it in the past, and focus on the craziness of that woman (legit claim) and then on to the recruiting trail and what looks like UL continuing to be a contender for the big east title and a national player.

Sure, they are a great program, with a rabid fan base and facilities that are second to none. Pitino has brought them hope again after a solid ten years of mediocrity. They can easily find a good coach to replace him, but they are suffering some delusions of grandeur I believe.
