The weather forecast for London for the next week: mostly sunny and highs between 72 and 79! Oh, please stay like that for a month! It has been wet and 65 for 2 months, it seems.

Sounds like the typical summer Palo Alto, CA weather. I swear, every time I check the temperature in Palo Alto to see what kind of weather they are having, it is almost always sunny or partly cloudy, with temps 68 - 72. Right now it is 79 - a relative heat wave!

I have always imagined England to be damp more days of the year than not. Maybe it is the London Fog brand of rain coats? Some day I will get there to see if the rumors are true. Not this year, though. :(

Palo Alto and Pennisula cities can definitely get hot, it's probably 90 or hotter today. Obviously cities by the bay are cooler, around 80 ish, but it is cold and foggy in many SF neighborhoods in the summer.

Even though I spend a lot of time in Palo Alto, I've never felt the desire to live down there and it's too expensive now due to Facebook HQs; with Google and Apple nearby. Funny though, many of the "kids" who work at those companies prefer living in SF. I've lived in SF and and now live in Oakland/Berkeley area because of the weather, yet it is still close to work (and Marin).

Hope the weather stays nice for Olympics! I work with a team in London and they are praying for good weather. I will going there in September, which is nice time of year.

The beauty of the SF Bay Area is that a fog bank sits off the coast all year long. The hotter it gets inland, the faster the fog is swept into the void left by the rising hot air...so even after those 90 degree days, the evenings drop to 55 degrees...always carry a coat or sweater. I used to play rugby in Golden Gate Park, close to the Pacific, and the fog would roll in at Noon...made for some surreal matches!
