Couldn't hurt, could it?
It could hurt - it could help.

Hasn't played position all year. Fumbles and picking up blitzes would be a concern I would think.

His dad on the UConn FB Facebook page requesting it could hurt as well - or not.

Posting a comment on a Facebook fan page really isn't a request ... just a passionate fan's opinion. I doubt this even registers a blip on the coaching staff's radar.

Allister was a very good high school running back. He hasn't gotten any burn at CB.

We moved Walsh the other way and it paid off.

Our running backs have not been as good as advertised other than Newsome. Maybe this could be a good move. McAllister has been very good on special teams. He clearly seems to want more playing time based on how hard he plays on special teams.

That is actually true. Now that the offensive line has stabilized a bit, I expected to see more progress in the RBs. Other than Newsome, there hasn't been much to get excited about. I really thought Johnson and Marriner would have taken a step forward by now. At this point, Max looks like the best option behind AN. You would have to assume that McAllister was behind RJ and JM if he was moved to defense. Or...he choose to move himself. Either way, hard to believe he would be better off to move back. Especially mid season.

And....does Pal intentionally spell players names wrong...or just careless? "Allister"? "Steward"? Surprised he didn't spell it "Boil".

Jason Thompson, Shelton High had the longest run from scrimmage in the Spring game and lead the white team in rushing.

"Redshirt freshman Jason Thompson (Shelton, Conn.) came on late with three carries for 47 yards to lead the White team in rushing. Sophomore Arkeel Newsome (Ansonia, Conn.) had four receptions for 26 yards. "

Hudl says Thompson runs a 4.6. He appears to be around Newsome's size. He has speed, moves, runs in traffic and is a good reciever. Looks like he only played 2 years in HS. I'd be curious what the coaches think of his potential. I agree, Max should probably get more touches.

Check out Jason's highlight reel and stats.

replace word REQUEST with TELLS/ASKS/QUESTIONS/COMMENTS...

Passionate fan and Dad can be two different people?

It might not register a blip...or it could be some insight to something, or nothing. I haven't found any other parents posting to put their kid in, at another position on the other side of the ball than what he is currently occupying on the depth chart.

I am hoping Beals parents post next...

No spitting match here Pal but I disagree. Walsh was not moved by "we" but rather than a threat to transfer if not put on the D side of the ball. He does have value there but the vision at the time he was going to be the next Dion Anderson / Tank Sherman type fullback. With our present core of RB's it is obvious a fullback of his caliber would be much more valuable on the O side of the line. The D could get by without him, the O desperately needs his type. Our RB situation is one deep at 170 lbs not sure of all the team comrade our head coach preaches. Our QB is the second leading rusher on the team which is not designed to run the option. JMHO a pay off would be to have Walsh on the other side of the ball...Just say'n...

Curious... Got any verifiable proof to back up that bold statement? First hand info, second hand info or run of the mill rumor mill?

Please don't ask him this. If he knows something, you're just encouraging him to screw his source. If he doesn't know anything, you're just encouraging him to make something up.

This is stuff we shouldn't know, if true, and shouldn't think might be true, if false.

Okay, I wasn't looking for an affidavit but I'll retract my question.

Just having a tough time reconciling in my head that Diaco would react well to "threats".

Jason Thompson's like a slalom skier slicing through the defense. He's not a complement to Newsome but a guy gets the ball and gets something done who knows. Same with McAllister and glad his family wants to see him playing. Bottom line we desperately need another RB (or two) to step up in case Arkeel gets dinged. Still like to see Max getting more touches.

I made no mention of why Walsh moved. He has been a significant contributor at LB. He wasn't at FB. Like McAllister (better) he was not getting significant playing time in his original position.

So you want to move Walsh back to his old position that we barely use on the field any longer? And take him off the defensive side of the ball where he's been a significant contributor?

I'm sure there are about 90 sets of parents want to see their child play...It would be AWESOME if they were all on social media giving their input.
