Not sure if you can add quickness. While he is long you don’t really see him use that advantage much. I think the key will be putting some added muscle on to be able to take it to the rim with some force. While muscular he’s only 190. Take a guy like Donovan Mitchell for instance (who’s from Elmsford CT btw), who’s 6 3, 215. If Solo can get to 200-205, find a way to start taking it to the rim through contact, his stock should spike.
His length is why I am so suprised he's not a better finisher at the rim. I'm not sure it's his strength or weight, I'm just not sure he knows how to use that length to his advantage there.

Ball is 6-3 which is short for an NBA player. However his wingspan is an outrageous 7-7 or something like that. A more important thing that Solo needs to add to have an NBA career is quickness.
if Ball had a 7'7" wingspan his arms would be dragging across the floor. it's probably in the 6'9-6'10" range like Donovan Mitchell

He’d be exploding over guys - rarely do I see Solo out elevate anyone.

Elmsford is in NY, which is where Mitchell was born. He grew up in Greenwich, which is actually in CT, despite most ‘yarders’ belief that the Greenwich/Stamford/Norwalk area is just an extension of NY state.

My view on Ball is that his physical attributes are sufficient to play in the NBA if he’s a big time shotmaker. The problem is he plays much, much slower than his physical attributes should allow. He needs to play faster and more instinctively and learn how to use his physical tools.

Mitchell is actually only 6'1.25 barefoot with a 6'10 wingspan. 247 said Solo has a reported 40 inch vertical and 6'10 wingspan while the UConn site said he has a 43 inch vert with 7'0 wingspan. I believe the 247 #'s.

Mitchell grew up in Elmsford, NY in Westchester County. He went to Greenwich Country Day in CT from 3rd grade until high school about 20 minutes away because his mom was an administrator there. I've followed him since he was a freshman in high school because he went to my high school for two years. Someone I know from the school posted video of him playing his freshman year and I said this kid will get recruited by UNC, UConn, Kentucky etc. He wanted to be a professional baseball player but broke his wrist at school and then quit baseball focusing everything on basketball.

Solo showed more bounce/explosiveness in high school but it was straight line drive kind of stuff. Mitchell was just different, dude was catching one handed tomahawk alley oops from half court in high school. He's right up there with Camby for me as the one who got away from UConn.

yea I always take UConn reported numbers with a grain of salt, I remember beat writers were being told Lamb had a wingspan over 7ft and then he checked in at 6'11" during the predraft process

So I read this whole thing on Solo Ball and everyone mentions finishing at the run, quickness, height etc but this is all you need to know about the NBA. To not even bothering mentioning defense, which is his biggest weakness, is amazing to me. I guess that’s how little it means huh?

This is really clearing up things regarding Liam's ankle, thanks guys. :(
“He’s still hurting a bit so we’re taking it day by day. He’s itching to get back out there but we want to win in March so we need to be careful with him.”

No idea if that’s what Hurley is saying but I’d imagine it’s something to that effect.

Ball has a 6-7 wingspan, but 7-7 would be nice.
