I wonder how much money Castle would have lost out on if he opted to get like $500K more in NIL and go to Duke or Kentucky. He's going to get a $25 million dollar contract in June while everyone else is in the transfer portal.
It's an interesting thought because while Duke and Kentucky are great programs, Castle could've gotten caught up in the wash and not gotten much playing time which would severely diminish his NBA prospects and thus diminish his future potential earnings even more. Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, and Kentucky are great programs, but UConn is the best program college basketball program now and the entire modern era of 64 or more teams in the NCAAT. UConn's numbers look even better in comparison if one looks at just the last 25 years.

#5, but I think all of his numbers were with the assumption of Diarra back in the OP. They don't seem to match otherwise
interesting that adding diarra and liam bumps us from 11 to 5 but adding brea doesnt move us up at all from 5

Has that ever happened before?

I live in NC and know a number of people who have degrees from both schools but has there ever been a basketball player that's played for both??
Where are you located? I live in Raleigh . Transferred down from Danbury 25 years ago.

The more I think about that question, I am running a blank. I'll have to ask coworkers.

They've got one national championship in their history which happened 35 years ago thanks to referee John Clougherty. The most famous stretch in their history was arguably the most dirty stretch in college basketball history when they were laundering money to all their players through illegal gambling operations. They just hired a mid-major coach named Dusty.
I mean, yes, they robbed Seton Hall.

They also were in the Finals in 2013 and 2018. It's not all that distant. Dusty May is a mid-major coach who took Florida Atlantic to the Final Four.

It took UConn some time to overtake Michigan in basketball. But to pretend this isn't a real program that will have major success going forward is an odd take.

I wish this board would stop accusing every player who doesn't choose UConn of making the decision based solely on money. There are lots of reasons to choose schools other than UConn. Except Syracuse, there's no valid reason to go there.

Sure there is. To transfer to Duke the following year.
