Lester Quinones, SG/SF, New Heights – One of the premier shooters in the class, Quinones had a very good game in the weekend finale. Quinones got open and knocked in shots when he had clean looks, and then also was solid off the dribble. While not the most athletically gifted prospect, he did give maximum effort on defense, and was solid on that end of the court as well.

Anthony Edwards and Precious Achiuwa stole the show on Sunday at the Under Armour Association
His body looked great. Starting to lean up nice. I really like him because his shooting ability will stretch out the defense and create space. He's also a very good rebounding guard and a high IQ coachable kind of kid.

You never know there are some people on here who have inside information, like Chief and Blaze.

Dan and his staff have been evaluating a ton of guys in a short period of time. Give them a couple of more weeks to see AAU games and sort out priorities. They will laser in on those dudes and follow them during the summer camps which start in early July. They may go early on 1 or 2 guys that they are already well acquainted with but for the most part the above is their strategy.

Anyone have any idea why Paul Mulcahy didn’t play with New Heights this weekend?

Sounds like coach spin to me. Translated it sounds more like: ...we have had a dialogue this spring with a group of top kids we have confirmed we have a chance with. We'd love to sign these kids up and be done with 2019 recruiting, but realistically only 1 or 2 we have an outside chance to fall our way early. Some of the kids are going to want to go through the July period before they commit and when they do the competition for them will ramp up. Therefore, we are going to use the July period to evaluate talent and laser focus. When we laser focus after July we are going to pretend it is plan A, but it is really plan B already in motion. Plan A was the regional guys we hit in April. That's our strategy.

That was supposed to be a joke, btw. Ewing theory?

I actually was gonna reply “is this serious or related to the ‘theory’” but I assume people on BY are insane at this stage.

The ‘Ewing Theory’ is an idea thought up by Bill Simmons theorizing that a team can actually improve if they lose their best player. The notion was actually relating to the Knicks teams Ewing played on not G’Town. Simmons argued that those Knicks teams were better post-Ewing than they were with him.

Probably because he heard some BYers didn't think he was any good and not athletic enough?

Kidding have no idea.

Anyone think we get our first 19 in May?
