Less time on the boneyard in the future

I have never understood these types of fans who CHOOSE to be fans of teams. That is not how I became a fan of any of the teams I root for. I have been BORN into my Fandom. I have always rooted for UConn, the Red Sox, the NY Giants and the Celtics cause my Dad rooted for those teams. Growing up in Fairfield in the 60s, when all my friends were Yankee fans, and the Sox sucked and the Yankees were great, I tried many times to not be a Sox fan! But for me, that's not how it works. I am stuck with my fandom for life. I cannot relate to folks who switch their allegiances like I change my shoes.

I love Boston sports teams because of my dad. He lived and grew up in Mass. for college, I never really had that other than my grandmother liking Ohio State. I was raised in a pro sports household without my parents rooting for college teams.

Yeah you’re right. Now that I have spent time rooting for UConn I just can’t go back on my decision to start rooting for them. It may not have been the best way to be a fan initially, but I need to stick with it now. Thanks for the reply.

With all due respect it's just a message board and not everything that comes from your brain needs to be posted. By the way that goes for most threads not just this one.

Don't worry bjc, as a UConn guy I have long had to adopt college football teams as UConn decided not to participate in the sport. You backed the right horse -- there is little sense backing off now.

Still like the huskies but I can’t justify rooting for two schools as my top teams.
Casual fan you are. Many parents have had 2 children playing for different schools, rooting for both.

We would never tell Ohio State fans of your secret admiration. In fact OSU fans have been secret admirers of us since 1999 in St. Petersburg where the UConn dynasty was born.

At least we know you've proven you like what you see here and we are irresistible.

So . . . . . . . . . .

I liked your likes but now I am full of buyer’s remorse. My second school is the Maize and Blue where my son and my money went and where the current football National Champions reign. To paraphrase Shakespeare. “Out damn Buckeye”.
