LeMoyne transfer commits to UConn

Koroma visited UConn on Friday 5/9 alongside fellow transfer recruit Armoni Ziegler of SaintvPeter’s.

Look like we're interested in St. Peter's guard, too.
I'll be curious to hear from Koroma on why he committed to UConn. Same if Ziegler commits. Both would go from starters to end of the bench players.

I wonder whether some kids at this point start to panic that they'll be left out in the cold without a place to transfer to and figure UConn would be a good spot for a year to work on their game. Plus the UConn name probably could get them a better spot overseas after they're done in college.

Seems to be nice pickup for what it is. Experienced, athletic, can play offensive as 5 man in 5 out (like sanson). Is good quick defender. (Sensing high hedge option )

Seems to be reibe insurance, or Samson lite for change of pace, or a good athletic bench practice player. Win win for spot 11 or w/e

What a weird track. 3 years. 3 schools. Now 4 years, 4 different schools. And now, Heaven.

lol. Okay.

He fits the role he was recruited for perfectly.

Older guy, will be a fine practice player and we won’t need to close our eyes if we ever have to put him on the court.
I don't get it are we going to recruit possible starters or good backups ? We need another big body and a quick defensive starter. Is this the best a two time back to back national champion can do ?

We have starters. Nobody good enough to start wants to sit on the bench. This is an amazing pickup. It adds needed depth especially given Reed's tendency to get into foul trouble.

This is player #12 and someone who has started at lower mid majors. Has played well against top majors. Played for Rick Pitino. What do you expect at roster spot 12? You know we still have 3 spots left and I'm sure we will get a developmental Center who will probably be around Singare level. No patience on this board. We aren't getting Baba Miller if people are thinking that. That ship sailed once Karaban came back.

Our depth chart at the 4 is Alex, Stew and Koroma? Sounds like he is more like insurance at least as a rebounder. He's scoring well against D1’s and getting 7 rebounds a game. Plus he’s injury insurance? Might he get 5-8 minutes a game?

Also, can play some 5 if needed. Yeah would be weird coming here for his last year and not expecting to play at all. He definitely could of played and started at a mid major.

If you bring in anything north of 3 stars, the current 4-5 star kids leave / decommit. It’s already happened. Plus, as others have stated, the NIL is used up. This kid and Jacob Ross are a steal given the circumstances. We’re already 1000 light years deeper than we were last year and they’ll probably bring in two more players.

Agreed with the first part of this. In terms of being 1000 light years deeper than last year, I think the jury is still out. Last year at this time we thought we were much deeper than 23-24.

I am thinking the idea is he will get an extra year from playing JUCO. Otherwise it wouldn't make much sense on either side to come and sit for one year.

German, I think. Also played at Iona a while back.

Purely a practice add before people start coming here and projecting him into minutes. Low major stats do not translate well.
Feels like they want to start restricting minutes for AK and Ball and Tarris as voodoo 30min so he will get 10 at the point forward role.

One glaring negative is a 47% free throw percentage on 48 for 102 last season. Curious, since his 3-point percentage was a decent 35%, including 3 for 3 against Notre Dame. His Notre Dame game was Karaban-like, with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block --clearly more than "practice player" numbers.

Would not mind bringing in Zakai Ziegler's brother at all.
