There are levels of "practice players." In the event of another AK concussion or the like, it isn't unimaginable for Korama to spell Stewart should Reibe become less viable due excessive fouling from the center position.

Just saying, a handful recent NEC players have become useful high-major players: Ansley Almonor (Kentucky), Jordan Derkack (Rutgers), EJ Anosike (Tennessee)...Wagner's Melvin Council is now at Kansas.
Yes, NEC stats do not translate well, but 11.5p, 7.2r, 2.0a, 1.4s, 36 3P% at 6'8 205 is solid, plus, he was rated as Le Moyne's #1 defensive player, per EvanMiya. Played most of his minutes at the 5 last season in Nate Champion's complex, five-out offense, which is one of the most sophisticated amongst local low-major basketball. Plus, I really like how he matches up with Karaban in practice.
Scored 13 points against us last season.
Damn solid piece for our 11th/12th guy.

He's a practice PF that didn't cost a dime of NIL. Or at least not much. Who cares?
He's about as good of free injury insurance that has played P5 teams before that we could get

Limited high major opponents but did well in every game against one. Had 10 points on 5-5 against Syracuse. 13/5 on 6-9 against us. 22/8 on 9-11 against Notre Dame.
Career high 24 points on 10-12 in their NEC tourney loss against CCSU
Big congrats to Dwayne for playing his way onto at least one high major’s radar. He’s coming in to be a practice player and I’ll enjoy seeing what he does in very limited blowout minutes

O.K. I'm not expecting much but good depth piece who can play the 4 and 5 in a pinch when needed. And can bang in practice
And as an added bonus Reibe has someone to speak German with.

A bit surprised we didn’t go after more rotation wing depth - must be really confident in Ross
Stewart or Mullins will start, the other comes off the bench (Mullins at SF/SG or Stewart as SF/PF), then the rest is Ross or Furphy

Interesting pickup. So he is coming to UConn for 1 year to just sit on the bench? I thought we were looking for developmental pieces. Maybe we gave him enough NIL to make it attractive compared to others that he didn't care.

Why do you think that? He is a 4 year player who has been decent. I'm sure he would of played for some Mid Majors and got guaranteed minutes but maybe we gave him more NIL. Are you expecting some big names? Tom Moore already said there will be none in his interview.

I feel like that is instructive here.
But I agree, he fits a need. More in that he can be a pain in the ass to players like Stewart and AK in practice.
