Two things: First, I'm swapping this lesson with tomorrow's since it's almost time to open presents. Second, I'm going to post links to the previous lessons at the end of each day so that we don't have a bunch of threads tacked to the top of the board.

There are two ways to post links, one is easy peasy and the other is a little more involved.

1. Copy and paste. When you see an article or web site you'd like to link to the Boneyard, use your right mouse button, as shown below

After you click, a menu will come up. Choose Copy Link Location or Copy Link Address.

Come back to the Boneyard and start a thread or respond to one. You can type a response (or not, if you choose) and then, again using your right mouse button, click on the box where you type the post. The menu that pops up will give you an option to paste. Click on that. Please note: the menu you see will depend on your browser (e.g. Microsoft Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc) so there may be more or less options in your menu but you should see the Copy Link (in whatever wording) and Paste. When you hit Post Reply, the link will appear.

The second way is a little more involved. You will again use the Copy and Paste functions.

At the website where the link you want resides, highlight the text of the article OR of a sentence where you'd like the words to be linked. For example. let's say I'm writing a post about Connecticut girls basketball and I want to link an article right in the middle of my sentence.

There was a great game last night where Mercy took on Hand in a non-conference match up. The New Haven Register posted some photos from that game.

Now, I'd like to post the link to the photos by allowing people to just click on "some photos", which will take them to the Register's site. To do that I would highlight the words "some photos".

Then I would click on the icon that looks like a chain on the toolbar.

A dialog box pops up, with a space where I will enter the URL (internet address) of the article.

I now go to the Register and use the Copy Link Location the way I did in the example above, then return to the Boneyard and Paste the link in the URL box. Then click on Insert. What appears will be a link in the middle of the sentence.

It can. To copy, hold your finger on the link for a moment and a small menu will come up. You might have to tap the link again after holding your finger in it. Once you've copied the link, tap on where you'd like to post it and the option to Paste should show.
