I hope we keep this theme rolling. Once every year or two bring in a 3 or 4 year top 30 type lead guard, instill strong leadership skills in them, once they leave its like the passing of the guard to the next guy. Fill in the other spaces with shooters and defenders.

It's one of those things that I have always felt is special at UCONN. Calhoun was here for so long and cared so much about his players beyond the court that he kept all those guys like family and they treat UCONN as family. It's why KO was the perfect hire; he is part of that family and has made sure his entire staff is too. The connection between the different generations of players is special. As far as I'm concerned if we keep KO that environment won't change and these kids will keep coming in, and sticking around.

And to think we're still in the early stages of our tradition. Were witnessing the growth.

Kemba -> Bazz -> Boat -> TSam -> Jalen

It won't be Samuel but Purvis passing the torch. Its imperative that Purvis stays for two years. He's been mentored by Bazz, then Boat (in Ollie's system). Don't get me wrong Samuel would be nice and will contribute, but I see Purvis as the next guard teacher on this team. Its good to know if Purvis bolts Samuel is there.

Purvis and Cassell Jr will have something to say about passing it………TSam too, great problem to have!

Didn't we used to be "Wing U"??? Are we still, or is this a promotion???

I'm starting to promote that we are just "talented basketball player U" but it just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Taliek was without a mentor, and had to learn from the 'hip'. He was the broken link coming in. More credit to his legacy

I love Taliek, he was and still is one of are most underrated players.

Let's not forget "Shot Blocking U" We had quite a run there, and Amida is revitalizing.

I'm on board with that. I'd rather we not pigeonhole ourselves and convince star recruits at a given position that they're not going to be featured. We've already heard chatter from frontcourt recruits that they're never going to get the ball in our system, and I'd rather not encourage that line of thinking.
