Looks like Tom is AWOL, so I'll start it.

Well Sampson limited his fouls, but also his points and rebounds.

So deep. Even when the mop up crew comes in they keep extending.

Poor shooting night to start, but still covered.

We still don't know how good or ungood they are. Can't wait for Maui to figure that out.

got a bit loose late....but got it done, ofc.

did samson and solo trade fouls? monkeys paw turned?

Here to say SPECTRUM HAS THE WORLD’S CRAPPIEST APP AND DIDNT RECORD THE GAME EVEN THOUGH I WENT BACK TO CONFIRM IT WAS GOING TO RECORD BECAUSE I DIDNT TRUST SPECTRUM’S CRAPPY APP.

Also not that it matters at this moment but how in the world in 2024 does the Spectrum app not allow you to adjust the begin- and end-times for your recording?

It’s like they’re not even trying to keep customers.

Anyway, looks like we won by 40. Cool.

Team still has spurtability which is good to see. Not a ton of takeaways we haven’t seen the past two games, but I like seeing them beat the brakes off a bad team. Been a big adjustment for Mahaney, hoping we see a breakout game in Maui. Might be pressing a little bit, maybe some better comp will get him to raise his level & gain the confidence he needs.

Seems like Hurley usually figures a team out by halftime, sometimes later. Team starts wearing them out with offensive sets and depth. Talent helps, but it really seems like there are no egos on the team, team first.

Jaylin played a great floor game as a connector, especially working the middle of the zone in the first half
Yeah I was really impressed with his decisions in that spot.

Not much to write home about for a cupcake game, but a few bright spots nonetheless:

McNeeley's offense is his forte but his defense is so underrated and continue to get better every game. He could be our Castle this year by conference play.
JRoss needed to settle down a bit as he did in the second half, and he showed he can handle the rock in a few possessions. He needs to continue to get mroe reps on the court in Hurley's plan.
Ball could've played even better if he cleaned up some little stuff.

1. Most consistent game from Diarra this year. Really nice to see him creating like he did tonight.
2. SJ didn’t have the gaudiest stat line but he stayed out of foul trouble and found ways to impact the game, especially as a help defender. You could see he really was making an effort to avoid the reaching.
3. Was a slow first half but even when we were 0-9 from three, they were finding and taking good shots. Clearly the law of averages was at play in the second half.
4. Was great to see Stewart a bit more active and finding ways to impact the game. He’s seemed a bit out of sorts in the offense through the first couple games.
5. Reed was a total bully. I love having the totally different looks at the five. Just nice to be able to throw that change up at teams.
6. Really rough game in all facets from Mahaney. He and the staff have to find his place in the offense and hopefully his defense can improve a la Cam Spencer as the year goes on. These are the games to work it out, but gotta imagine he’s going to start losing PT if this continues after the cupcakes.

I think my one big takeaway is its time to start Tarris. Ross is finding his way but when he figures it out he will be our best player. Cant keep starting off this slow because against better teams we`ll find ourselves down double digits.

Mahaney not as advertised. If he can't get his shooting % up, he's a liability out there. Worrisome he can't play better against poor competition today.

Need to switch Reed and Johnson in the starting lineup. Johnson plays better as a 6th man.

For God's sake, give Abraham more minutes. He has Starter talent and could be a difference maker come March.

Aidan Mahaney. I can't figure out if I want him on the floor or not. The talent is there but the good plays come with some real headscratchers.
His issue is hes not athletic enough to just go out there beat his man and do his thing. He needs to play in system to flourish. Until he gets there hes going to look mid. As he gets comfortable and understands Hurleys system he will no longer be thinking and just reacting and then we will see him start to take off.

Some love for Solo. He is just scratching the surface. I love that once he hit a couple shots he wanted it and it was like a switch went off and he was on killer mode. We need more of that guy. It is unreal to think of the potential of what Ross, Tarris and Solo can be because Alex and Liam are already so good it makes one salivate at the though of those three other guys taking that big step.

I agree with Tarris starting, I'm surprised Hurley hasn't made the switch yet.

You really think Ross will be better than Karaban?

Jaylin Stewart was absolutely diming his teammates today. That could be his niche.

He is fantastic against the zone. He def. has gotten better at understanding the system. Now he just needs to be a tad more aggressive.

Mahaney just can't buy a bucket. The ball just seems to rim out a lot for him. Did someone from St. Mary's curse him?

He doesn't seem to process quickly in the motion offense which seems to slow down when he's out there. I hope he picks it up soon. He seems at his best when he has the ball in his hands and drives the gaps and gets to the basket. He's streaky from outside though his 3 ball was just a smidgen off. He's working hard on D, which is not his strength.

Diarra on the other hand was electric. Makes me wonder if Dan Hurley will switch it up and start him to help the team get out of the gate firing on all cylinders instead of sputtering.

If and its a big IF he takes that big step forward with his athleticism and obvious skillset to go with it he could potentially score at will on all 3 levels with the ability to shoot over or beat his man off the dribble something AK simply is limited in. He could also be a terror all over the court defensively which we are seeing flashes of. I think he just needs to play and when the game slows down for him and he gets comfortable and not in such a rush or worried about mistakes, man!
