Las Vegas Aces @ Atlanta Dream - 8/07/2018 | The Boneyard

Las Vegas Aces @ Atlanta Dream - 8/07/2018

60-56 Aces at the half

McBride 16 pts, 1 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl
Wilson 15 pts, 7 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl. 1 blk

Williams 14 pts, 3 reb, 2 blk
Bentley 14 pts, 4 ast, 1 stl

Plum 11 points 8 assists 3-5 FG 2-3 behind the arc. She hit a groove after the All Star game her rookie year and it looks like she's doing it again this season. 7-9 from 3 the last 1 1/2 games.

Meanwhile in Atlanta, the loser is likely to top 100.

If you like scoring this is a good game. 95-94 Dream midway thru Q4. Plum has 20 points and 13 assists. I think it's safe to say that those who thought she couldn't be a PG in the WNBA were wrong.

Nice balanced scoring for ATL. 4 w/ 19+, 2 in double figures off the bench.

I think it was a 16-4 scoring run the last 4+ minutes for the Dream to close the game out.

It makes you wonder what they will do who they will take with their draft pick, and with MoJeff. MoJeff isn't as good a shooter as Plum, but she is the better driver, defender, and athlete. However, she is coming off an injury and Plum is making it hard for Lambeer to cut her minutes.

If the Aces get the 3rd or 4th pick, I doubt McCowan or Brown would still be available (which I don't think those choices would be good anyway.) They should get another talented wing or maybe a talented 4. If they try to play MoJeff, Plum, and McBride together that makes McBride the 3. It'll be interesting whay they do going forward.

You can probably stick a fork in LV's slim playoff hopes. Looks like Atlanta wants that #2 seed and a bye.

With a 29-16 final quarter, the resilient Dream captured their 11th win in the last 12 games. Williams (11-12 shooting) and Bentley had 22 each, Tiffany had 21, and Angel had 19 before going out with a knee injury.

They lost again. They should have the second best odds of #1 if they miss the playoffs.

I still think Mo will be a star. A smart GM will make an offer for her. She would fit nicely in Minnesota.

Is Jefferson fully recovered? If she can get back to her rookie form I agree she'll be a star but I'm not sure she's there yet.

She's moving well. She doesn't get enough PT to get her rhythm. Plus, her teammates need to get used to her.

Does the draft still factor in the bottom four teams of the last two seasons? I know they did that for Stewie's draft, but I wasn't aware if they are implementing that every year. If not, they are the best of the four last teams. It goes; Fever, Liberty, Sky, and Aces. There is still some season left to play of course.

I'm pretty sure the ranking is still based on the past TWO years.

Yes, it's the new anti-tanking standard.
Well shoot. I thought that this year's draft could be interesting for Minnesota because I thought that they might get an early draft pick for their standards.

Well then, the Aces could get another superstar player. You have to feel bad for the Liberty. I don't think they tanked this season, they just had poor coaching. And Lambeer's success last year will cost them a high pick.

Regardless, I didn't see this type of success coming from Atlanta. Their team is very athletic, and everyone puts up points.

They should get an early pick. #5 or #6 is plenty early enough in this draft.

Atlanta is just so freaking athletic. Breland, Williams, McCoughtry, Sykes, and Hayes are great leapers and extremely quick. Montgomery isn't a slouch at PG and Bentley has been catching fire as of late. Atlanta/Seattle could be a great finals series if it pans out to be that.

I too want that championship game. Now The Dream have fewer UConnites, but since Tiff is my all-time favorite, I want a ring for her.
