Look on the bright side, UConn will get 14 days to prepare for every game.
Edsall should be the first to know. Having him ask Putterman for info on Twitter is a S Show
And what happens if the starting Qb for a visiting team comes here and tests positive? What does that do for oddsmakers in Vegas? And does that mean his starting backfield, WR’s, & OL all have to sit it out for 14 days too? The absurd possibilities are endless. Play ball!!
That bridge is on fire I don’t think we’re crossing itReally, cross that bridge when they get there. Find a way through monitoring and testing. They will likely not get there.
CTBballfan243Patriot was already taken?I would be more concerned If I were a team coming to play at Connecticut. After all, Connecticut has one of the highest COVID death tolls of any state in the country.
I just tweeted this out but Hartford Athletic played Loudon United, a team from Leesburg, VA last night. I haven’t seen anything where Loudon was forced to quarantine for 14 days before entering in to CT to play Hartford Athletic. As of today, VA is a state on the quarantine list. If they weren’t required to quarantine before playing at Hartford Athletic it seems pretty hypocritical to require UConn Football to quarantine after only being gone for a day for a football game.
No, just not a Patriots fan.CTBballfan243Patriot was already taken?
No quarantine needed incoming if you present a negative test within 72 hours prior to entry.
I would love to see this addressed by the media. I completely agree with requiring UCONN teams to quarantine when they play in one of the high covid states, but it should be the same for everyone - or it doesn’t work.

Sarcasm doesn’t always transmit on the web.huh?
I though it showed how well we were social distancing. They would have gotten away with it had they not been on tv!!!!![]()
So it’s UMass for at least 8 games
I was thinking the same thing. First Blue Jays home game is against the Nationals. So it's fine for the Nationals to go play in Hartford but UConn has to quarantine 14 days after playing a game @ UVA? Good luck enforcing that...I'm not sure this is still relevant after the play for the Blue Jats.
MLB teams get tested before they travel so it should be no problem.I was thinking the same thing. First Blue Jays home game is against the Nationals. So it's fine for the Nationals to go play in Hartford but UConn has to quarantine 14 days after playing a game @ UVA? Good luck enforcing that...
right but its the consistency- if that protocol is fine for them then it should be applicable to UConn playing games and coming from different places too. You can't arbitrarily draw the line in the sand and say its okay for MLB teams to do that but not UConn.MLB teams get tested before they travel so it should be no problem.
And get immediate results while the there’s a two week backlog for us plebeians.MLB teams get tested before they travel so it should be no problem.
MLB, NBA, NFL have the coin to contract out their own private lab work...nothing wrong with that. I would fully expect they are doing exactly and if they are not, then those respective state labs need to give them the boot. And get immediate results while the there’s a two week backlog for us plebeians.
Nobody said UConn can't do that. Depends on whether or not the Jackson Labs can handle an extra 100 tests overnight. Or whatever adjunct lab they have on line. That might be a stretch, but who knows? Today if you get surgery at UConn you take the test two days before and have the result in a day. I just did that.right but its the consistency- if that protocol is fine for them then it should be applicable to UConn playing games and coming from different places too.
