And how do we know that Niele Ivey is available, interested in, and would leave Notre Dame for that position in Knoxville?

Query: Has anyone heard from Javaman? He usually posts 8-10 times a day. His last post was over 3 weeks ago.

That's the point. No one thinks Niele Ivey is available for a parallel position, at absolute best, at a program that is currently far less relevant than ND. Unless you're delusional.

Well said.
And I find a significant change has occurred on VolNation regarding Uconn and Geno. There are a few jerks who post there as there are on most fan boards, but a surprising large number of the posters show serious respect toward what Uconn and Geno have achieved and have long since dropped the 'cheats' meme - whether just too long ago or because they suspect the complaint might have arisen from a somewhat addled brain I don't know. There are also a number of TN fans that recognize that Pat's system of offense had become somewhat dated, though not her leadership. They recognize two issues with Holly, that she perpetuates Pat's system and that she is not the motivator or leader that Pat was.

Yes TP3 u r so right..... the respect that board has for GA strictly as a coach has increased markedly the last year or two.... It is nice to see.,... I have always been respectful of Pat here on this board.... at least I think (Pollyanna today) and I think others do the same.... and i hope that is way it continues.... I don't expect adulation from foreign boards wherever they are , it is a partisan board and of course it should be!!! Hope Sharrona, the Tennessee gal as STwain points out, brings you success before SC gains a foothold in the SEC.

Bayarea---you are always a class act. fans will be fans, and some are kookoo, but I enjoy your rational and MATURE comments on here. you make this board better. hope Geno recovers well and gets back on the court soon.

For one, Ivey isn't leaving ND for Knoxville, and the other thing is that the main issue down there is not recruiting.... it is far greater..... CHW and staff need to teach game of basketball at a basic level and to develop the good players there right now.... I am not looking right now, but I believe Bashara graves arrived there very highly rated, then went low in the draft..... Hope for them that Sharrona can bring what is needed... lifting skill level and team play

When Bashara Graves was a freshman I really thought she would develop into something special. I was impressed with her, she didn't play like a first year player. I know she had some injuries and that might have set her development back somewhat. But I think that mainly she didn't get the coaching she needed and that's on Holly Warlick.

LV9 Thank you so much for your nice words..... Even though I get too worked up sometimes, yes, I try to keep things in check..... Along with many others ..... we have missed you and other LV fans on here.... for whatever reason you left I am sorry you left and for whatever reason you have returned I am grateful for that even more..... I sound like the US General in WW2 ( I forget his name ) who spoke the famous quote "If we do what is necessary, we most certainly will succeed!!" Anyway, many thanks again.

I always admired Graves on her effort alone.... she always was the first to go after the 50 50 balls..... and do battle down low.... yes I know she was hampered by injuries during her career..... a couple major, and a lot just nuisance stuff.... I bet she will do well for her WNBA team....

thanks buddy. work and life has had me tied up lately! whew. congrats on the title. hope we can step it up next year! :)

I wished him well and called someone an idiot for saying something stupid. Geno means a lot to his family, players, friends and UConn fan base (WCBB as a whole as well) and positive thoughts and wishes to you all for having that scare. Most of us Tennessee fans are and should be pretty sympathetic to it considering what happened to Pat and now that she is in a special care facility (and Tyler's... mess) anything that happens to these positive figures within the sport we all love hits close to home. I had genuine concern when I heard about Geno's condition because I have a ton of respect for him. I still "hate" him though... it's in my contract. ;)
Sorry to hear Pat's in a special care facility. I didn't know it had progressed that far.

I have less of a problem with Holly's system because I played in the same offensive system in high school and we averaged 76 ppg in eight minute four quarter games. Executing it is all about movement off the ball and that is both on coach teaching it effectively and player awareness. So I have a slightly different perspective and remain hopeful in Holly's growth in this area... although patience is wearing thin I have to admit. I do think a lot of it has to do with the system fitting the type of players and also the game has changed in the sense that such a stubborn approach to playing inside-out is not as effective as it once was in WCBB (which echoes your comment on the system being dated). South Carolina has a similar approach and equally poor 3 point shooting and they too at time struggled quite a bit on the offensive side of the ball.

I'm not a big fan of Vol Nation due to a small number of posters who not only like to attack the coaches abilities and character but also the players... I'm also a liberal within a very conservative fan base and Vol Nation board often leads me to practice the "if you have nothing nice to say..." self-regulation. ;) I visit this board and The Summitt more often as I tend to find them to offer more thoughtful discussions on WCBB in general. Plus I still like to hear the opinions of the UConn fans I conversed with on the old ESPN boards back in the day. I also have to say the negative tone towards UConn and Geno has cooled considerably although it still exists.

I do have different opinions and clearly different bias but I do value and respect this board and it's posters and it allows me yet another place to talk about a sport I've loved for over 20 years. Thank you all for your hospitality.

I had thought Geno being in hospital would have brought gratuitous thoughts..... "gee, get well soon" ..... but nothing.... that is fine.... i am just glad that the good folks on this board didn't take shots at the Summit family.... or anything else they could have done....
There are well wishes; they just didn't start another thread. They're part of a previously existing UConn thread.

Discussing topics raised on another board are fine, even rumors, but please don't bring real or perceived insults from other sites.

thanks buddy. work and life has had me tied up lately! whew. congrats on the title. hope we can step it up next year! :)

I join Bayareahusky in welcoming you back. Since this is a UConn board, we're all biased. We love our girls, coaches and program. We're proud of their recent accomplishments, and we don't apologize for them. That said, its always nice to get fresh thoughts and opinions from others outside of UConn Nation. I wish we had more posters from other programs post here. That would give us more "stuff" to talk about. Its interesting that even though we're all UConn fans, there is division within. We don't all see things the same. Example: We can't agree on who the starting 5 next season should be. That's a debate we'll be having all summer.

I personally don't visit other boards. Not because of disrespect, but because of lack of interest. I try to keep up with the daily goings on of our program. I spend 90% of the time here reading other posts, most of which I find interesting and insightful. I love this board. Because of that, sometimes the forest can't be seen because of the trees. I welcome the opinions of others. How entertaining or enlightening would this or any other board be if everyone who posted there agreed on everything?

We can agree to disagree.
That's the basic foundation of any board, to share YOUR thoughts and opinions as YOU see them. I look forward to hearing from you on a regular basis. Let us know the pulse of Volunteer Nation every once in a while. For a while there, it looked like Vol Nation was about ready to implode, but you bounced back. Enjoy your day, look forward to hearing from you soon. :)
