I guess when you are the "recruiting coordinator" and there are no recruits coming in you've worked your way out of job?
Coordinators line up the recruits; the head coach seals the deal.

Kyra is currently on several short lists for HC positions, and Holly knew that. It was a mutual decision. She wasn't fired.

I forget which school but last week there was a rumor that Kyra might be in line for a Head Coaching job at a mid major.

There's a post on twitter that Kellie Harper might be going to SMU. Currently at Missouri St.

Regardless - generally you don't announce that you are parting ways with the Associate HC until AFTER they have a new head coaching gig. I have also heard that she's on the short list for a few jobs, but the timing is really odd. I would go with what Nan said - Kyra wanted to teach offense and was shut down, OR maybe she wanted out of a sinking ship before everyone actually drowned...

Interesting the rumors of former LV coaches/players possibly going to the AAC. Harper maybe to SMU and Elzy maybe to UCF?

Regardless of the reasons, a change to the coaching staff was likely to happen if for no other reason than to satisfy that masses . . .

Current HC openings include GW, SMU, Nebraska, James Madison. Kelly Harper is rumored to be SMU's next head coach. Elzy is not a good fit for Nebraska. I haven't heard much about GW or James Madison.

Elzy will land somewhere. She's a good one. Chris Dailey is a huge fan.

Here's a link that really doesn't reveal much: LINK

"Kyra and I spoke this afternoon and agreed that it would be best if we parted ways," UT coach Holly Warlick said in a university release. "I have the utmost respect for Kyra as a person and as a coach. We have been friends for a long time and our friendship will remain strong."

I meant it as a joke.

I can't believe Harper would leave Missouri State for SMU...she did really well there this year and they have a much stronger bball tradition than SMU.

I thought that Law would be the first to get canned given their miserable guard performance. She's out of the CViv school of how to do less with more.

I do believe that Elzy won't be the last to leave that program.

All of the coaching staff have snatched mediocrity from the jaws of excellence with no exceptions, not that it upsets me or most that post here a whole lot.In a strange way,we applaud them.

To be honest with Holly pretty well guaranteed of being there for at least one more season, I think their best chance would be to replace all the other coaches and try to bring in some that can actually develop the players individually and hopefully put in some better team concepts on both offense and defense.
