As with Ricky Ledo, when you're talented and no one is recruiting you, there's a good reason for it.

Iverson is ineligible this year, but will still attend Memphis in whatever capacity someone attends Memphis without playing basketball.

By everything I read today he was a full qualifier. Where did you see that he was ineligible?

.-.
The articles I found all say that he is eligible. I was never a big fan of his, as I thought he never wanted to play down low or mix it up. But I have to admit that he really has improved upon that and is very talented.

BTW, he turns 20 next month. I was 17 when I started my freshman year at UConn.

20 year old freshman? That makes his questionable talent and work ethic even more puzzling.........glad he's in Memphis.

What's up with these old kids.......I was 17 entering my frosh year of college and i was twice as good/mature a player in both baseball and basketball when I was 19.....wish I was a 19 year old senior in HS!! :D

If he doesn't flunk out and stays four years he'll almost be as old as Eddie Williams from UConn in the 80's who served his country first!!

Wow, so much hating on this kid. I'm glad to hear Kuran's eligible. I look forward to seeing him play. He's talented and from CT. I always root for CT kids whether they attend UConn or not. Don't bash him for going to Memphis or his age. That's just bad taste.

Good post. But watch your back . I am sure you are about to be trashed

I understand this is a finicky bunch, but I'm not going to hate on some kid for his college choice or rag on his age. Hey, he's going to college & trying to make something out of his life. Not everyone gets to do that. Calling him out like this just makes no sense. He didn't ask for this.

Memphis will take just about anyone with talent- not knocking the kid- don't know anything about him as a person but Memphis has shown they will turn a blind eye to almost anything if a kid is talented.

I was not hating on him at all when I brought up his age. It was just an observation. I would, however, expect a 20 year old to be more physically mature than an 18 year old, as he is actually 4 days older than Andre Drummond who has already spent a year at UConn and a year with the Pistons.

I have seen Kuran play in person a bunch of times. I wish him well, he has the talent.

saw him play, didn't start the game and looked to get in a fight with the coach mid game. he looked awful on the court imho. lets memphis have him

So much for using Twitter as a source.

Iverson definitely has talent - I didn't realize that he was older than Drummond, but I wouldn't sweat that.

He might be an old freshman for most schools, but he's practically a baby if you go by the Pitt scale.

How about at least a link to support this?

Anyone know if this conference is going to have minimum academic standards all the schools will have to adhere to? I recall UL and Cincy having to adjust when joining, no more Prop 48's, things like that. Or is it going to be if they meet ncaa minimum that's good enough?

Not hammering him at all for his choice (happy as hell for it actually) or his age. But I now understand him to be a little less talented than first thought considering he had very little time to work on the inside despite being 6'8" and 19 years old in HS.....hey the best to him....but he wasn't a UConn type kid/player or he would've been there!

Let's keep these guys in conference!

Kuran went to private school in my town his freshman - junior year and I watched him play a few times. My school's tallest player was about 6'4, and we were a poor shooting, unathletic team in a weak conference. kuran finished with 10 points in our matchup his junior year, and while showing off extremely polished handles, never seemed to have any intensity or motor . I wish him the best because he seemed like a nice guy whenever I saw him around, but I'm not predicting success at the college or NBA level, especially since I was a grade above him and he is still a year older then me! When he was 18, he was playing against 16 and 17 year olds with limited success

This guy has the same scouting report as a coach who coached against him twice that I know of........again he may be a good kid and for that reason alone I hope he somehow hones his skills and begins to get it.

Don't you mean Calipari turned a blind eye if a kid was talented? Pastner runs a completely different ship since he became captain. Memphis has had a perfect APR every year since Pastner took over and made it to the academic final four last year, losing out to Butler I believe.

20 year old freshman litter the landscape these days. It is what it is. Parents are "redshirting" kids in pre-k to give them an "advantage"

I've also learned that posting a lot in game threads will kill your like-to-post ratio. Comments are going too fast and furious and nobody is actually going to bother liking them.

It would be like if you missed a 75-foot three-pointer at the end of every quarter. You're killing your efficiency ratings.

Overrated metric anyway (says the guy who's sub 30%). I still think there should be a 'dislike' selection as well. That would inject some juice into the forum.

But your legacy would still trend upward if the 75 footers were heaved with 8 to 10 seconds still on the clock. Roscoe will never be forgotten.
