Was that the most minutes she played all year?

I thought she was very good. Several key rebounds and a few points, and no obvious mistakes. All in the biggest game of her life.

She played great.

Absolutely agree!

Future continues to look bright, great effort but forward by Stokes this evening when the Huskies really needed her

And this was the result of Geno's decision to focus on Stokes in January. It paid off in the end.

The only thing is you could say is that with her body and athleticism, she should be an even more effective player than she already is. Hopefully this will motivate her for next year.

No doubt - her play was great to see! Creates confidence for her that can carry into next season.

I think Kiah played 15 tonight, near her career high of 18 or so.

I hope she liked her taste of the Final Four and works her butt off to go back--3 more times.

She has to work on her footwork, but she's got a ton of potential...more than I thought she actually had coming in to Uconn.

Geno said the same thing in the press conference. Said he was proud of the way the freshman & sophs played. Also said he wished he'd left Kiah in for the last play of regulation ... we'd have had a better chance of getting a defensive rebound

I've been lovin' watchin' Kiah play this year .... can't wait to watch her for 3 more years. Her upside is huge!! :)

Of course, KML's fun to watch, too !!

She had a bunch of bad turnovers but so didn't many on the team tonight. Coach praised her in his pressr and even said the thing he is going to take home with him about the last few sequences is that he took Kiah out too soon. Kia has to get stronger hands. No one should be able to take it away from her. The good news is that a year from now you could have Bre and Stokes as Fwds with Stef at center and Bria and MJ (you need a point) as starters. That doesn't even include KML, Faris and potentially Tuck (playing a major role). Future so bright...I am putting on shades now.

wait, what??
Who WON'T play hard in a game like this??

Be real: the kid came in with huge athletic upside and a low work ethic. Can you imagine if she put in the work like Dolson did last season??

Everyone needs to strengthen their hands. It helps with rebounding and avoiding TOs.

Maya rarely lost the ball when she had 2 hands on it.

Geno wondered out loud in the postgame if the game was "too big" for some of his kids and that led to them doing stuff he hadn't seen in a long time.

CD also talked about a lot of standing around. She said that there were many opportunities for UConn players to take ND defenders off the dribble and force defensive decisions or force the refs to make a call. CD thought only Dolson played really well and up to her capabilities. She didn't think the others played as well as they're capable of playing. Still, they had a chance to win the game.

CD didn't really understand why there was so much standing around on offense. She did mention the experience difference between the teams but she thought UConn outplayed ND for long stretches in the game.

"she stepped up"
and I'd say again...who wouldn't?? She's not playing Brittney Griner or Ogqwumike, she's playing Dev Peters and that other post. Sorry, but neither of them should be "out of a UConn post's league", eh??

Or do you differ in what is expected of a UConn post??

Other players would've gotten eaten alive by being put into that position. Or they would've been nervous. Or they would've made mistakes.

She was asked to do more, for a longer period, against the toughest competition, in the most pressure-filled game. And she did.

Okay, seriously, this is UConn basketball at the end of the season, and you're saying this??

What I'm seeing is the UConn guards REALLY hesitate to feed her the ball...and the entire UConn offense wilts.

Look, I follow more than one team...and if should be getting more out of a Mickey D's all-american at this stage of the season.

Peters is a 5th year senior and All-BE player. Achonwa is a soph. Kiah is a freshman reserve.

Once again....Peters is a very average post on a very, very good passing team. Rarely, if ever, does Peters face a double-team.

You guys are making excuses, and I'm trying to get a handle on "why".
Seems I recall Dolson was a "freshman post", and a chunky one at that??

Peters played in the best conference and was all-conference and 2-time DPOY. That is clearly not average. Dev was instrumental in their success this year.
