There's a thread entitled UCONN on the Michigan Scout football site. In it, both sdhusky & uconnell have eloquently posted, trying to correct misconceptions of our University that were posted by Michigan fans. Does anyone remember the mass visit by Wolverine fans on the old Rivals UConn site? Maybe more of our core should perform an intervention by aiding sd & ell in their endeavors.;)

Do you need to be a paying Scout member to post on their board?

no

Just for your information HDF also beat the drum for UCONN in that thread. Sorry it was the Ohio State board.

He told you:
Replace the _ with an s

It works.

I edited my post after uconnell left the comment. I had forgotten about the _cout problem.

I wish I knew who Pat78 was on this board... He's amongst us for sure.

A little for the argument against the Michigan guy who claims the recruiting sites 'generally get it right'....

In this last draft...

There were 17 5-star recruits drafted.

They were outnumbered by the 2-star recruits. There were 20 of those.

And 40 3-star recruits.

The recruiting sites basically suck and a kid who goes to Bama is getting 4-stars whether he earns 'em or not.

Rivals gave out 33 5-stars last year (http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/rankings/rank-3054); if that's typical, then 17 5-stars drafted per year out of 33 5-stars ranked per year is over 50%.

There's around a thousand 3* recruits, so about 4% of those get drafted.

2* recruits are basically everybody else who gets a look, so the other 4 million high school seniors. 20/4,000,000 = 0.0005%.

That's evidence of getting it right. Of course, they get it right after the recruiting process ends -- after they see who gets offers where.

So 50% of 5* recruits, who are supposed to be mortal locks to be superstars, don't get drafted? Sounds like a pretty lousy average to me.

There are 4MM high school seniors that get 2* ratings? You want to stand behind that statement? There are 4MM high school seniors, male and female, in the entire country. All of them get a 2*?

Pat78's response was hilarious. If that's what we face, we sure have quite an uphill climb with fanbases. But it can still be done.

I believe he lives in CT and from reading the thread the Michigan fans don't value his opinion much at all. Don't know if he is a regular poster or not.

That's what he claimed, his posts make me think otherwise.

CL82 not all CT residents are UCONN fans, unfortunately. He may be a UMass fan, who knows but he is definitely an idiot who does not like facts, ala SDhusky.

SD Husky's fingers had to have been cramping up after all that typing...but all good data! :)

Look for the guy who got hit by a truck named SDHusky. What a polite, systematic, fact-driven dismantling.

I never thought I would ever see my name and polite in the same post.

It was his comments about the relative quality of the schools and campuses that made me question whether he'd been in the state. Clueless.

Cracks me up how snobby B1G fans are when they're conference has been below average for nearly a decade. It's basically been OSU and a bunch of crap for a while now. So many midwesterners entire lives are college football, must suck to be so dedicated to something so average.
