God bless YouTubeTV….I don’t know how long it saves recordings, but if you recorded UConn hoop this year, the LeMoyne game is still there waiting for you.

On Koroma’s size…205 makes more sense to me now. He’s not that big; smaller in all dimensions than Alex and Stewie. Not as tall, smaller frame. If Stewie goes 215, 205 looks right. Gets everything out of his 205 pounds though.

But I know why people think he looks bigger…for some reason, he seems to expand or shrink depending on who’s next to him. He was guarding Samson and, eh, he looked close to that size. Then he guarded Solo and he kinda looked the same size. And then he defended Aidan and he looked Aidan-sized. He might be a witch - we’ll need to keep an eye out for shape shifting.

Wasn’t great on defense, but we definitely have worse. Alex absolutely put him on roller skates once and Hassan kinda walked him down for another basket. Flip side, they were asking him to guard Alex, Samson, Tarris, Stewie, Solo, etc., etc. at various times - it’s LeMoyne vs UConn, so the dam breaks pretty often and he was probably trying to plug too many holes. On the basket where Hassan walked him back, I think he was worried about a cutter behind him and he kept retreating until Hassan decided he was close enough to just drop the ball in

Offensively - scored nine of their first 13. Two put backs, shook free for an easy basket and a three. He definitely hunts the offensive glass. Got an inbound and murdered our press with an outlet pass. LeMoyne’s offense last year was actually kinda pretty - he cut us up a few times inside out. Also he was the guy who gathered the rest of the team up for huddles - a take charge type, in a good way. He knows what he’s doing; he’ll pick up the offense here quickly.

I like him. I don’t think we’re gonna see tons and tons of him - as a guy who really does most of his scoring around the basket, he’s probably two inches and 20 pounds short of where he needs to be in the Big East. He fouls a lot and he’s a terrible free throw shooter. (At 6’6”, he shot 71% from the field and 47% from the free throw line last year….ah, wow.) But he looks like what I thought he might be - a really versatile practice player who will embarrass some first team guys occasionally and a guy we can put on the court in a pinch and we won’t have to close our eyes in fear of what he might do.

For our last scholarships, I am still recommending offering one to the son of a Russian oligarch - we must be creative in these days of NIL. If Gampel Pavilion has to become Gazprom Pavilion, let’s do it. And, also, we kidnap Singare from High Point. We really need a Singare-type and Singare has that Singariness in bushels and bushels.

No defensive clips here, but can see his baskets against us starting at 31:44. This is every bucket he made last season

Putback dunk, swished an open 3 (strange form lol), open putback layup, open layup rolling to the hoop, picks up a loose ball and finishes over Samson. Last clip is short but looks like he found an open spot in the defense for a free dunk. Eventually I’ll find a full game replay and spend an unnecessary amount of time watching him every play

Point blank layups usually from the left side. You have to think that those shots will not be so easy in the BE but if he can rebound as a fill in that’s the depth we need and any putback is a bonus.

Thanks for the legwork on this Fishy. Agree that he can’t be the third center that some people have been speculating; think he’s the “combo forward” type Tom talked about. Would still like a true C and a combo guard. Zeigler seems like more of a pure 2 (and maybe even a small 3) so even if we get him I think I’d also like a guy who can play the point a bit. Our ball handling options aren’t great after Silas and Malachi - although Furphy is a bit of a wild card there.

Should be a dependable 5 minute stint guy when/if needed.

Another poster used opportunistic to describe him in this situation. If we have to give him minutes, can he get LeMoyne level numbers in the BE? Lets hope we don't have to find out, but rather have him than not. Nice grab.

Did he get a Hurley bro-hug in the "good game" line?

Let me throw this out there for discussion purposes, not a prediction, not to cause trouble. The man has loads of game time under his belt. Say with daily exposure to top competition he takes a leap. Say, he gets in there and kills it. In the old days, you get rewarded with more minutes but now it doesn't seem that simple. Does a players' backstory matter more than earning minutes through production now?

What is not to like about this pick up. + athlete who is 6’7 or 6’ 8”. Looks like he has a good wingspan which will help in practice and defending. Has a reasonable shot and looks like he knows how to set a screen.

All we really need now is some one a bit bigger true 6’10” with moderate athleticism and thats it from a meaningful standpoint. I like that we are getting much more athletic. Would like to see a version if this offense that uses transition more than we have. Granted it was roster construction but if we defend we will get transition points.

That one clip of Demary I swear he had more break away dunks by himself than our entire team.

We should be hoping no one we are recruiting to fill out this season plays except in a 97-36 blowout (AKA Andrew Hurley role )

We should hope we can get a player with as good a win-loss record as Andrew Hurley.

Honestly, it’s really tough to see him making a huge jump just because of his size and how he plays - at like 6’6” (maybe), and 205, you can play around the rim in the NEC whereas you really will struggle to do it in the Big East unless you’re some kind of freak athlete.

Imagine Josh Boone trying to play like Josh Boone if he was 5” shorter and 30 pounds lighter.

Yeah he's a role player(practice?), but he didn't look overmatched against the two time defending national champs did he? Good numbers against 2 ACC schools, yes? The "Waquiot scenario" is in the realm of possibility, maybe not good enough to bet on, but I'd lean towards "he killed it" rather than "he was an abject failure, unplayable". Again, who knows, but good grab by the Huskies in my eyes.

I think the most you hope for here is solid defense at the 3/4 if he needs to play. But we’re talking about an average player at the lowest level possible in D1. We shouldn’t expect much.

Can't we just call him one of last year's top players in the metropolitan Syracuse area?

He's a cheap insurance policy who might surprise. I like the pickup.

Whatever flaws he might have can be coached if he's coachable.

I see him as a dark horse.

He's played a lot of basketball and that might help him see some minutes.

He has the whole Summer to figure it out. Worst case scenario, he gets garbage time. Best case scenario, he works his way into 7 to 10 minutes a game or more.

In the end, it's nice to have someone like him inserted in a game rather than a green freshman in a high pressure situation. Seems like this guy could answer the call if needed.

You could say the exact same for Souleymane Diaby - 6'5" guard can play and can practice hard - good teammate and while he was invisible last year, he has eligibility this year, and is on our official roster. Kind of flew under the radar in terms of roster construction dialogue.

Souleymane Diaby is squarely just a walk on player. He hasn't played any significant minutes of basketball in his career while Koroma has and done decent against good competition. I don't see the comparisons besides both being on the bench and not starting. Thought out of the 2 I'm sure Koroma has a better chance of impacting the game if needed than Diaby based on his track record.

You must be related to diaby in some capacity, right?

Great kid. Different caliber of player.

Courtesy the replay list on here

Finally got around to wasting an hour overanalyzing the game. Obviously cutting him some slack because he and his team was severely overmatched

Defensively he gave up a lot of open looks because his pick and roll defense was really bad. Went way under every screen so guys got good looks at the rim because he was dropped so far, or gave up wide open threes because he went way under the flares. Maybe a function of the defensive gameplan, but it was really noticeable

But on offense he looked pretty solid. Spent a lot of time around the perimeter directing traffic. Not much of a scoring or shooting threat, doesn't really look for a shot unless it's wide open (but did hit an open corner 3). Few hustle plays to get putback dunks/layups after recognizing our bigs were out of position. Seems like a good passer for a big, he has a good sense of where open spots are

Overall if this is our free "break glass in case of emergency" PF to play a few minutes here and there, I'm not complaining as long as the P&R defense is schemed to be better
