Watching some of the clips, it looked like he had a solid handle and showed some quickness. He used those to create space for his J but can he use it to do more? He's got good size at 6-6. There's a clip of him throwing it down with authority.

Now maybe he's just a deep shooter, aka Joey Cal 2.0 (though Joey could put it on the floor, drive and dish), but I'm curious if Hurley can mold him into a more complete player who can defend and take it to the basket, and not just chuck it up from beyond the arc.

Now if all he can do is knock em down from deep at a 40+% clip, you won't find me complaining. :)
But I feel we're going be pleasantly surprised to see more from him by season's end than just a 3 point specialist. If he wants any chance of making some solid coin after college, it would be in his best interest to learn to defend, find open teammates, team-rebound, drive it to the paint to knock down midrange shots or draw contact and get to the line. He's got the height, handle, and hops to be so much more than what he's been. He needs to get stronger, for sure. Let's see what Hurley and staff can do to transform him into more if he's willing to learn.

If Johnson and Big Hoss can block shots and be a deterrent at the rim like Clingan was, we’ll be set. We’ve lost so much experience

We have but other teams have too. Purdue lost the player of the year. Illinois lost their best player. Houston lost its point guard. Tennessee is losing Knecht. Marquette is losing the heart of its team.

You'll see most people stick Kansas there based on the fact that they have a potential all-conference player at every position.

But...I think you're absolutely right that the team won't gel in the locker room whereas the Duke team doesn't yet gel logically on the court (and is frankly far too inexperienced for the portal era, IMO).

I just want this to all be resolved in the next couple days so we can forget all the other portal nonsense and start looking to next season. That and planning which 5 star 2025's we want.

I know this is a thread about Brea, but have you heard anything about Mahaney from Trilly? Also what is this kill shot you speak of
