Katie Lou Samuelson out ‘indefinitely’ with hand injury
Katie Lou Samuelson, Jamierra Faulkner and Astou Ndour will not play in tonight's home game against the visiting Phoenix Mercury.
This one does: Katie Lou Samuelson update: Sky’s first-round pick out three weeks with broken wrist. This article says nothing about a "broken wrist". It refers only to a "hand injury". There was another article cited in another thread that said that no surgery will be needed and that she will wear a cast for a few weeks.

Sucks, man. Hope she heals fast. So many injuries so far and it's barely two weeks into the season. It really can't help her that she'd already played nearly 40 games for UConn and then had only a few weeks off before training camp. When you think about it, even the rookies come in having played a "year round" schedule, and it seems like that's only going to increase the risk of injuries.
Mmm, that's a fair point but not really applicable in this case. She hurt it taking taking a charge. It happens. It wasn't really an overuse type of injury. It really can't help her that she'd already played nearly 40 games for UConn and then had only a few weeks off before training camp. I was thinking somewhat similar thoughts following Jess Shepard's injury in Minnesota. While one can't (probably) draw a correlation between the long college season slipping right into the pro season (first WNBA, then overseas), you've got to wonder. I notice many rookies (perhaps Pheesa and Burke notwithstanding) having chutes and ladders seasons. Could be adjustment to the level of play, could be exhaustion or some kind of combination. However, it's a lot of hoops.
In any case, all my best to KLS and hope she recovers well. Ditto (again) for Jess....
I was gonna say, she might as well get used to back to back seasons, cause that's what she's gonna be doing. The argument that the freshman play a lot of games, with a limited break, doesnt make sense. Nearly all of the remaining players play long schedules overseas. They are all over worked.
Here's a look at the cast:
Good point.I hope she isn't saddled with the "injury prone" tag.
Sadly you may be right. When a post asked who would have the better career Napheesa or Lou, I said Napheesa because of all Lou's injuries, which is why I was surprised she was drafted ahead of Napheesa.
I think both will have good careers. What Lou dies takes more adjustment, what Phee does can be defended. Injuries are flukes. She might just as easily never suffer another injury.
