Let's hope K9 is good to go, or else we might see Kelis as the starter!! I had no idea KK was injured. I wonder how long she will be out with that injury and if she will wear a mask... Best wishes for a speedy recovery for both!!

Kelis as a starter? Seriously, have you started the New Year’s celebration a bit early? While I am happy with what I have seen of Kelis, there is no way she would or should start…even if K9 can’t go. Given that she wasn’t mentioned in the injury report I suspect all is well with her.
 
I thought the game was a little rough. I don't mean the Butler players were misbehaving. But the speed UConn plays at might have yielded more awkward contact than some of the Butler players intended.

edit to add: apparently these injuries happened in practice. Now that makes more sense to me given how competitive practices can be.

Sounds like Heckel is available..give her 25 mins, Kellis get 15 with orders not to drive to the basket, but to get at least 6 assists.

I expect Blanca to get even more playing time today.........should be interesting.....
 
It's like a story in two parts... back in my Rugby days, this was a very common combination !

I don’t believe that Ayanna has reached her full potential. Not even close. I think that she has more athleticism in her tank and her injury set her back. Get well soon, Ayanna and KK.

Sounds like the same thg people were saying abt KK in her freshman year, but its a good thg she didn't pay attention to tht negativity seeing tht she's leading all guards on the team in fg% (54.8) this year, and it not bcus she's shooting a lot of jump shots. And to top it off she's getting close to 5 assists a game. So where are those critics now?.......crickets.

Remember when Nika fouled out against Notre Dame and the whole team hit a wall. Everybody learned how valuable Nika was to the team’s success. Hard to measure intangibles. And tangible things like an opponent’s point guard having to deal with KK every possession. I think we’re going to see a drop off. Hoping not.

I don't think Kelis will take KK's place. They will probably start either Blanca or K-9.

I personally would very much see Kelis get a lot of PT today, even with K9 starting. Of course she is far from a finished product but I think we all have seen the great potential she has and PT is what she needs to make progress. And, against Providence there is no risk in playing her.
