Kisunas released from LOI

Yesterday "Hurley would like Kisunas to remain committed to the program"
This morning "UConn will release Lukas Kisunas from his letter of intent. It was very much a mutual decision."

Kisunas didn't like the tree that Hurley was barkin up and so they both said see you later? I would have loved to sit in on their meeting yesterday.
Of course the coaching staff says they'd love to see him remain committed to the program. Remember what happened when Randy pulled the scholarship from that kid from NJ Diaco offfered and the sports media went into uproar? The kid was a borderline FCS-level recruit and RE knew he wasn't good enough for this level so he made the tough call. Dan Hurley and Co. are likely to say publicly they'd love to see him committed to the program but were honest with him in telling him their vision of how he fits into their vision.

We are getting this in real time without knowing the strategy. Can't go all knee-jerky.

But wow...flushing out the Ollie legacy here.

This surprised me. Especially the "mutual decision" part. I'm not one to jump to conclusions and there is 0 doubt that Hurley has a plan in place. I just figured of any of the 3 commits we had, he was the one who would stay.

It is what it is. Best of luck to him!

It was Jason Smith from Brewster who said the coaching staff wanted him to remain committed not Hurley. Of course Smith will make it seem like UConn still wants him. I don't think Hurley was too interested him.

As long as Brewster's Smith and Hurley still have a good working relationship, I'm good with it.

Use the scholarships on one year guys this year and recruit hard for next year

So we should play on sucking again next year?

How many top knotch guys are left in 18? Why waste one on a guy not worth having for four years. Also I think Dan Hurley is a better coach than KO. And it'd work out better under this staff.play our guys and use transfers as depth.

We need guards. We have a lot of project big men already. Hopefully none of them are planning on leaving.

I'm sure Hurley has guys he is looking at for next year. Now he has an opportunity to get them.

I had a good feeling about him but we’ll be okay. Need 1 more guard and we’ll be a potential top 25 team. Right now we have:
PG: Adams, Gilbert
SG: Vital
SF: Wilson, Polley
PF: Williams, Whaley, Diarra
C: Carlton, Cobb

Throw a decent combo guard into that roster and there’s a lot to like.

Didn't previous tweets say Hurley asked Kisunas to stay?
Yea I’m not on twitter often but prefer the Hartford Courant writer Amore over the register guy. This reporting is not the best.

I don't know if anyone watched the raw video of him when he committed. It was worlds different than any highlight film. It wasn't pretty. Lots of people here talking about a guy who does the little things, but we need a guy who patrols the paint and plays D or is a back to the basket specialist. Its not hard to teach a guy to screen.

We need

Anybody else catch that he thanked Hurley and Moore. I know we were speculating about Moore, but was there official word he was hired? If i missed it, I apologize.
