Not only Azzi, but add to it the story of Geno telling her she needed to cut her nails to shoot better. OMG classic! Apparently it went like this:
  • Azzi to Geno - "Coach I'm not shooting well. What the heck"
  • Geno to Azzi - "Let me see your hands. Yeah, go cut your nails. They are scratching the ball and pissing it off. Cutting the nails will help"

Kayleigh, if for no other reason than, in the second half she was the only player who seemed to want to play aggressively and seemed frustrated (to my mind) by the general lethargy of a team with a huge victory well in hand.

Azzi obviously had the best night from an offensive standpoint. And what a performance it was! To an extent I guess that is why I am saying that she is my candidate, but the real reason is that she did it in what was her last game at home.

There are many players on this team that are ABSOLUTELY BAD ASS! And two of the most are young, underclassmen, non-starters. Heckle and Quinones come into the games and play so aggressively; it just stumps the opposing team! After having to deal with the defensive play that Arnold and Williams bring from the tip-off on, they finally get rewarded with Heckle and Quinones as the sub’s?

Typically great team effort, but Azzi's scoring just set the tone of the game and set Syracuse back to nowhere. She brought the nails, the hammer, and the coffin.

Azzi’s last game at Gampel and she tied her career high by continually throwing daggers at Syracuse to break their spirit. Azzi is a pretty bad-ass princess!
