Kibitzer Memorial Badass Award | The Boneyard

Kibitzer Memorial Badass Award

There were some great performances by a number of Huskies today. But at the very start of the game, KK jumped the Creighton pg, picked her pocket twice, hit her first 8 shots and basically it was game over........definately BADASS!

As much as I would like to give it to multiple players, especially KK who thrilled me with her performance, I would be wrong not to recognize Sarah for her brilliance. I give the BA Award to Sarah Strong. The tape and the box score do not lie.

Pretty tough to decide between K9. I'm having a hard time deciding which one to choose. If only someone could give me a sign.

There were so many candidates for the BA award for this game (KK, K9, Sarah, Azzi and i'll add Jana as well) but our super-hero KK (the masked wonder) is the one that from the very beginning of the game destroyed Crieghton with the relentless defense and effectiveness of her offense. and is the BA of this game. My HM is K9 with a remarkable second half...

My award goes to Geno - his starting PG is having a terrific game and is shooting 8 of 8 for a season high 18 points and scoring at more than a point per minute, then she misses her ninth shot and he immediately benches her for the rest of the game! If that isn't BADASS, I don't know what is!

Serious - yeah KK, set the tone early.

But the whole team was impressive - best game for the team all clicking at the same time.

(with the exception of Serah getting in foul trouble I guess - radio seemed to think some of her fouls were tick-tack.

The announcers spent a good amount of time talking about Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd (deservedly so.). But I think KK's offensive performance in the opening minutes really surprised and deflated the opponent. So I give the BA award to Kk.

BTW, I think Creighton is going to be really good over the next few years.

I would pick KK, always leaning toward a player who set the tone early. But oh my god! Strong and Heckel had unbelievable games, Fudd had an almost flawless game, Shade too (no missed shots and only a foul). The six guards had 18 assists and 1 turnover.

Since Ramadan started, El Alfy has played 79 minutes with 6 fouls and one(!) turnover, 8-11 from the field and the foul line, with 24 points and 38 rebounds.

A hooray KBA for KK.

KK set the tone from the beginning both offensively and defensively. The sheer havoc and offensive fireworks she she created in only 16 minutes was badass and breathtaking. The game was over 20 minutes in thanks to her and Sarah’s efficient dominance on both ends of the floor.

KK, by consensus.

She is so fast, that even watching video and practicing to face her cannot adequately prepare an opponent for the real thing. And by the same token, even refs tend to swallow their whistles when KK occasionally mugs an opposing player with a lightning move.

Today was a real emergence for KK. She really spearheaded this victory. KK and Ash will make magnificent co-captains next year.

I’ve gotta go with Strong. What’d she have, like four steals in the first five minutes? And that bounce pass through three defenders after the block and rebound/steal was absolutely amazing. It seems every couple of games she makes one of those plays where she blocks a shot and gathers the ball in the same motion.
