I have to split my vote... Azzi for her scoring AND defense on Jazzy... basically took Jazzy out of the game.
AND Ashlyn... one of my favorite Huskies...this game she was everywhere on the court, causing havoc for Southern Cal....scoring, hitting 3s, DEFENSE....probably her best game this year.

A lot of legitimate contenders for BA this game. I'm going with Ash on the strength of one play. Someone, Q I think, is a bit inside the 3 arc, looking here and there to find someone to pass to. She was looking like a quarterback who has gone through all their progressions, no one is open and several large people are closing in. A turnover looked to be in the offering. Until, charging through the crowd of USC and UConn players, Ash, hair flying as usual, appeared to take the ball. Shooters shoot, hustlers hustle.

I hadn’t watched the game because of work, but I like your choice of BA. However, I don’t think Q was on the Huskies’ roster last night as she now plays of NC State. Again without seeing the game I believe it may be Blanca who you may be referring to — she sometimes puts her hair in a puff.

You might need to discuss this with Geno. In the postgame presser he said that he was trying to get her up to 20 minutes a game-just what she had yesterday

I do agree with you that Blanca is going to earn more playing time but that is hard to do. Yesterday SS only played 31 min; SW only 21 and Ash, who plays a different position than Q, had 29 standout minutes. As the season goes on, if SS is healthy and games are competitive she will be getting more, not less than 31 minutes and if SW continues to show progress than 21 might be low for her, also. Ash is probably the best conditioned athlete on the team so she doesn't even break a sweat with 29 minutes. Making matters worse in looking at minutes just from the USC game we also need to remember that two more players---ICE and Morgan---will be looking to get PT that they missed out on yesterday.

I nice problem to have. In competitive games I think it is more likely that Q could pick up a minute from each of Caroline and Yanna.

Too many played well for any one person to stand out as the BA to me. I was impressed by K9's up and under move, though. And Blanca wreaked destruction on the Trojans when she came in half way through the first quarter.

My vote is for Shade. She was switched onto bigs near the basket several times and didn’t give up a basket. Shade is energetic, but she’s also STRONG, she didn’t get manhandled by the bigs.

How fortunate are we that we have a legit 2-4 players who could be our badass award winner!!!

Since her very first (turnover prone) games, I've thought Blanca is our best athlete, and I am still thinking that after the USC game... And, she's only a freshman!!!! What the heck is her ceiling gonna look like if she keeps improving over 4 years at UConn (as I'm sure Geno will demand of her...) - WOW, hold on...

And didn't Geno mention that the USC freshman star was the likely freshman of the year.? Is that an Ecuadorean message to Blanca?

I did think I heard someone mention Jazzy D and freshman of the year in the same sentence, but I can't recall the specifics. However, it did catch my attention and I expect that Blanca noted and perhaps took (as intended?) exception to that. I'm certainly not putting my money down on Jazzy D just yet....!!!!

And I do believe there is an extra wrinkle to this because Jazzy turned us down for USC - correct?

Yes, Jazzy chose USC over UCONN; however, do we get Blanca if Jazzy says yes? A blessing in disguise from my perspective. I prefer BQ.
