Kibitzer Memorial Badass Award

Really feel sorry for Lou, she played her heart out and they couldn't get her to the FF. I will always remember her as one of our best Huskies, even though she only played one year. She's WALL material as far as I'm concerned. Hope the Sun draft her next month, but wherever, good luck to her.

Lou...she was amazing..HM to Dorka the human double double
Well said, Browns.

It seems somehow apropos that both Lou and Dorka went out with strong games. They've been a joy to root for and get to know, as much as we get to know the Huskies. Two classy, bright women who hopefully will have happy futures, in or out of basketball. They're two of my all-timers...

As I've said before, Lou is maybe the toughest kid on the team. I adore her spirit, and she pretty much always seems to come thru when the going gets tough. Will miss her a bunch...her playing, her grit, her spirit, her accent, her smile. Hell, everything. She deserves the best as she goes forward in life.

Yep. Lots of effort.

UConn BadAss in this game, not so much.

Lou showed again today that in big games she stands up.
The WNBA team that gets her is getting a winner, and someone who will get better every year.

NIKA. Who on Uconn's team wanted the ball in her hand---Nika. She was the brunt of the Press. All game she was pushed and prodded. She took the ball to the hoop when other's wouldn't. She took a physical beating. NIKA. Lou was Lou, she was the offense, but Nika kept the team from crumbling.

It seems fitting that our super seniors share this award (although a larger percentage goes to Lou). Lou has been our steady eddy, and Dorka has averaged a double double. Without them, our season would have been a disaster; with them, the team won 31 games and stayed in the top ten all year. Without them, this game would have been an embarrassing blowout; with them, we kept it close enough to have chances. I’m going to miss both of them very much. Badass players. Special people.

When Geno walked out onto the court when Lou went down, I thought ,"Man, she's been the one that's been hot for us so far." And when her points brought the game to within 5 and then the lead was quickly erased, my heart broke for her, because she was fighting through the pain for a chance.

I would say Nika. Nika had the toughest job...getting the ball over the half court line in under 10 seconds with a extremely tough full court press. She didnt have much help and in the second half she just took it herself. As soon as she got the ball inbounds she took off full bore and broke the press just about everytime in the 2nd half.
