Against Indiana in a win for NY.

Tina had 21 and Swin had 8.

Meanwhile, Tulsa leads Seattle by 43-17. Ouch! Jewell is shooting 0-6.

Kiah woke up offensively in the 2nd half. Nice game for her and nice win
for NY. I hope she can build on this performance. She could be the steal
of the draft and she is helping Tina Charles.

Sometime ago Kia Vaughn and a couple of other Rutgers players were the mainstays of Liberty.
At least they had the numbers if not the mainstays.
What happened to them?

Those blocks v. Nat looked personal....UConn v. ND... lol

Lib were also UConn-esque in their assists to baskets.

Vaughn was traded to D.C. Carson seems to be back in fighting form after her return last season from a knee injury...

I think Kiah can help reduce wear and tear on Tina.

In the other game, Seattle shot under 24%. Renee was only 3-15, and Jewell was worse, at 0-10. K played 15 minutes and had 7 points.

Kiah...go girl! Glad Achonwa is back in the game.
Agreed. Kiah Stokes, the complete player. Offense, defense... good for her! And agreed - so glad Achonwa is back in the league. Glad she's completely recovered from her injuries...

No doubt bout it Kiah is the steal of the draft. Its funny how you can become a better player in the WNBA then in college but we all new she had potential
I think it was Geno who threw her in the dog house early and locked it until he really needed her and she just SHOCKED the world of how talented she is

I didn't see the game, but in looking at the box score, Tina had only 4 rebounds last night while Kiah had 6. With Kiah rebounding, Tina can be more mobile, making her far more dangerous. I love this twin towers for the Liberty.

Got to get to a game this summer....

The three blocks were against ND Natalie Achonwa.

On one of those blocks, she blocked Natachon back to South Bend. One of the more interesting things about this game is at the beginning Tameka Catchings guarded Kiah. A few times she out rebounded #41. This was the 1st WNBA game I've attended. I will share extended thoughts later this week.

On a side note, I saw a young girl go up to Catchings to give her a hug. Catch responded. I think it made the girl's life based on her reaction.

For some players a change in scenery does wonders for you. NY coaches
are showing a lot of confidence in her and pushing her to become more
of an offensive threat. She is logging lots of minutes and will only improve
as the season goes on. She is already making a name for herself defensively
in the league.

Thank God she didn't get drafted by the Sun. She ended up with the right
team. Lambeer saw something in her that he liked and moved up in the
draft to get her. Working with Herb Williams daily will only make her
that much better. Go Kiah, prove them all wrong.

Just curious as to whom you think "them" are?

I do like Achonwa's game and her spunk!

I agree, except I didn't like her flopping, imo, on two of Kiah's blocks.

Old habits die hard. I did not see the game. Gotta get my WNBA radar up and running.
